SENIOR, FW PRODUCT DEVELOPER VIETNAM
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
In this role, you’ll collaborate with a cross-functional team across Partner Management Office (PMO), World Headquarters (WHQ), and Product Creation Center (PCC) partners. As a senior team member, you’ll leverage your broad experience, deep knowledge, and understanding of Nike’s expectations to solve complex problems in innovative and effective ways. The role is located at the Nike Vietnam Office in Ho Chi Minh City and reports to the Senior Director, FW Product Development Lead Vietnam.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a seasoned project manager with critical thinking and analytical skills towards problem-solving. The ideal candidate should have:
Minimum 4 years combined project management experience relevant product-related role. (In lieu of degree, two years of additional relevant experience required.)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferrable, or equivalent work experience.
Seasoned project manager with critical thinking & analytical skills towards problem solving.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
Strong influencing skills and ability to champion complex projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organization.
Strong understanding of product construction, materials, and the product creation life cycle.
Intermediate knowledge of Consumer Product or Hardgoods, with a strong foundation in Project Management, Communication and Soft skills, Costing, Materials, Leaning Agility, Footwear Manufacturing and Commercialization, Testing, Footwear (FW) Tooling/Upper/Chemical and Innovation.
Clear understanding of PCC needs and processes, with the ability to communicate them effectively.
Willingness to travel up to 20% (primarily within Asia) to visit PCCs and manufacturing locations.
Ability to engage with liaison offices and factory teams during development, providing key input through hands-on observation, process trials, and manufacturing insights.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will lead the end-to-end footwear development process—from concept to commercialization—by managing cross-functional teams, driving product excellence through sampling, testing, and innovation, and ensuring products meet performance, sustainability, and consumer needs. You’ll also mentor PCC partners, collaborate across geographies, and engage with manufacturing to bring high-quality, athlete-informed products to market.
Provide project and process management to translate a project brief and 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets consumer needs and team goals and can be successfully and profitably commercialized.
Lead the end-to-end development process—including sampling and prototyping across geographies—to deliver high-quality, sustainable, cost-effective products that meet performance criteria and original design intent, on time.
Collaborates with PCC, WHQ and PMO functional teams, material vendors and manufacturing teams to effectively execute on product development goals and deliverables.
Create and revise appropriate documentation for assigned products; ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs and prototype notes; rack and facilitate sampling and prototyping for products; identify and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plan accordingly to deliver proven and tested products.
Monitor and communicates progress and challenges throughout the product testing process to meet product integrity requirements.
Stay up to date on market trends, category goals, emerging technologies, and consumer needs to inform and enhance the development process.
Advocate for the athlete* by driving product decisions with a strong consumer-first mindset and in-depth understanding of performance needs.
Bring multi-functional or multi-dimensional product creation experience to support complex, innovation-driven projects.
Host and lead cross-functional dimension/project team sessions as needed.
Provide coaching and mentoring to PCC partners across all aspects of the product creation process.
Collaborate closely with teams across PCC, manufacturing, materials, costing, engineering, sourcing, and sustainability to bring products to life.
