WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As a Graphic Designer II with Nike Core Footwear Design you will be working hand in hand with your design teammates and project-specific cross functional teammates. Your role is to represent graphic design within your project team, and collaborate within the design community (industrial designers, materials, color, computational, and production).
This role reports to the to the Senior Director of Core footwear, working with the collaboration with the Core Studio Design Color Director on seasonal projects.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Designer II of Footwear Graphic design for the Nike Core Footwear design team. The ideal designer is a curious observer, eager participant and a cultural sponge – seeking insights to solve problems. You leverage your design skills along with highly creative problem solving to create graphic solutions that elevates the storytelling relevant to the athletes and communities we serve. You will use your design versatility create visually stunning graphics through deeply resonating stories – across the wide range of product in the sport performance and sport lifestyle footwear landscape.
The ideal candidate thrives on team collaboration and building new working relationships, strategic thinking and the ability to work through ambiguity to elevate our footwear from concept to reality.
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
- 1-4+ years directly relevant work experience.
- Proven ability to apply and perform graphic design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a portfolio of non-computer-based creative art and graphic design.
- Previous graphic design experience on product is preferred.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general, and the athletic industry specifically.
- Demonstrated high level of expertise using graphic design software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations.
- Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with design teams, share ideas and develop effective responses.
- Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment.
Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands, and changes.- Travel 10%.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Core Footwear is responsible for design and creation of price point product across 6 category “Fields of Play”, including training, running, basketball, classics, modern lifestyle and sandals.
As a Footwear Graphic Designer II in Core footwear, you will combine your experience, problem solving abilities, and creativity to bring to life the seasonal creative narratives through graphic design that is trend relevant to the consumer across performance and lifestyle footwear. You will create original graphic and/or textile designs that appropriately reflect Nike's design ethos. The designs you create will be industry leading, trend right and will consistently incorporate consumer/athlete insights through powerful storytelling, emotional connectivity and relevance.
This opportunity also involves working with design leadership and cross-functional team members in design, development, and product management through great visual presentation effective use of design tools and compelling verbal communication.
