Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Footwear Color and Materials Designer II, EMEA who will leverage color and materials to deliver a premium, recognizable, innovative, and trend-relevant point of view in the European marketplace through strategic vision, design direction, storytelling and editing. Create a color and materials creative vision for European consumer groups seasonally through research of European trends and insights. And maintain hands-on and collaborative involvement with marketing and footwear development, in support of creative direction, seasonal initiatives and go-to-market strategies.  In addition, the designer will collaborate with a team within a fast-paced, close-to-market environment and design consumer-relevant application decisions while maintaining costing targets and timely deadlines. 

What will you work on?

  • Color + Material Designer II
  • Implements seasonal color and material creation through European trend and insights + seasonal strategy with design team
  • Building color + material stories, palettes, and cads seasonally
  • Plans and executes the product details and reviews samples and clearly communicates changes to ensure timely completion of each project
  • Maintains footwear product updates and seasonal looks
  • Builds awareness of current color and material trends, through fashion, art, design, and sports-related products through market research to keep abreast of consumer needs
  • Provides support for design team as needed outside of assigned product load

What you bring to Nike?

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Art or a related field or 3-4 years of experience within a design environment working with materials/ or color/ trends
  • Exhibits strong design-thinking; has the potential to learn strategic thinking and merchandising
  • Learns how to achieve desired color effects through materials, finishes, and graphic application
  • Basic understanding of most material types and application to product
  • Proven European trend + consumer knowledge/insight.
  •  Enthusiastic and curious, carries a self-starting attitude, open to learning
  • Great Presentation Skills; Visual Communication; Information Seeker
  • Strong organizational skills, Strong multi-tasker, Ability to manage several seasons at one time
  • Experience in collaborative working environment and competing resources and deadlines
  • Macintosh computer experience, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator skills
  • Strong passion and experience for digital tools/development; tech-savvy
