WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a Designer II for Nike Core Footwear.  The ideal designer is a curious observer, eager participant and a cultural sponge – seeking insights to solve problems. You leverage your outstanding design skills with creative problem solving to create innovative solutions that elevate the experience and key benefits relevant to the athletes and communities we serve. You will create industry-leading product through deeply resonating stories – with the opportunity to work across a range of Sport Performance and Sport-Lifestyle footwear across mens, women’s and inclusive footwear.

The ideal candidate thrives on team collaboration and building functional working relationships to help bring the teams to successful project completion - from concept to reality.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:

As a part of the Nike Core Footwear team, you will work on designs that push the possibilities of sports and culture through footwear. This role will work on product ranging across Mens, Womens and inclusive product with the potential to work on performance and lifestyle footwear.

We expect you to explore new opportunities, take risks, and change the game! In your day to day, you will engage with project teammates on researching, gaining insights, problem solving around performance and manufacturing, working with athletes, and creating a vast range of inspiring and creative solutions. You strive for sustainable options and are considerate of cost.

With each project, you are expected to also participate and present the work in both formal and informal reviews with design leadership and business partners. In addition to individual project work, the Designer II will also collaborate and engage their design teammates and the Core Footwear Product Design Director to build the best possible product for our *Athletes, and create a team community focused on cross-pollinating ideas and mutual growth.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:

As a Designer II in Nike Core Footwear, you will be working hand-in-hand with a multidisciplinary project team of experts while collaborating within the design community of your design peers within the footwear team. You will work directly with the Core Footwear Design Director to execute seasonal projects.

WHAT YOU BRING

Design Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design or combination of relevant education, experience, and training 

  • 1-4 years experience designing and developing innovative footwear and other products

  • Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience

  • Passion for sport, culture and style.

  • Able to demonstrate strong narrative from consumer insight and trend into form, silhouette and construction.

  • Previous footwear design experience preferred.

  • Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills

  • Must be able to create accurate 2D technical drawings

  • Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials

  • Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project

  • Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus

  • 3D knowledge and experience a plus

  • Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, Powerpoint, Acrobat, etc.
