WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an experienced Communications professional to lead our Global Consumer Communications team.  You will be responsible for developing a long-term vision and strategy that creates distinctive storytelling and brand resonance with consumers. You will build relationships across functions and the business to drive enterprise priorities through the lens of communications, that will take the brand to new places.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be working with a highly motivated team across Communications and other business functions, at both the Geography and Global level. 

  • You will be building and driving global consumer communications plans that leverage the power of creativity, cultural connection and relationships to create energy and impact for Converse.  
  • Working in partnership with the Converse Communications Leadership team, you will develop a global consumer communications strategy focused on driving our most critical storytelling opportunities and accelerate Converse’s position as a brand of, and for, Creators.  
  • You evolve and advance our communications narrative to consumer audiences to build brand resonance and identify emerging consumer trends that reinforce our brand’s connection to culture and the Creator community. 
  • Serve the Geos with strategic counsel, support and execution
  • You will partner with broader cross functional teams to execute plans and experiences tied to major culture and sport moments. 
  • You understand the competitive landscape, their narratives, strategies and tactics, and have a strong grasp on media consumption habits and influence for consumers across global markets.
  • Deploy creative problem-solving that drives innovative thinking, influences team culture, and supports cross-functional strategy. 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring teams, ensuring high engagement, clear accountability, and strong collaboration
  • Ensure learning and development opportunities to help your team grow in their careers

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

  • You will be part of the Global Converse Communications Leadership team and will report to the VP, Global Communications & Social, Community and Impact.  
  • This role works closely with all areas of the Global Communications team and with a highly matrixed and cross-functional group of teammates including global and geo communications teams; Global business partners including Product Design, Global Marketing, Sports Marketing; cross functional partners, leadership and external agency partners. 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business or related field or equivalent experience in role.
  • A minimum 10 years relevant work experience, including experience as a people manager.
  • Previous experience working with consumer and brand focused companies is preferred, not required.
  • A self-starter who instinctively and consistently creates personal and professional stretch goals and meets them.
  • Works well with others with the ability to build trust with the team and work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing and executing simultaneous projects and activities. Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Curiosity, flexibility, creative thinking.
