WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
In this role, you will report directly to the VP, Apparel Design Excellence and partner closely with Innovation, In-Line Design, Development, GLAM, Engineering, and Athlete & Consumer Insights teams. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across Craft Design, Form Design, and Sample Making, collaborating to create platforms and systems that bridge bold exploration with seamless execution.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Director, Craft Design who is passionate about hands-on experimentation and making. You will set the strategy for Craft Design as a cornerstone of Apparel Design Excellence, leading the creation of future product platforms and establishing new standards for silhouette, construction, and chassis systems. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with advanced apparel design and prototyping expertise, a deep understanding of garment construction and materials integration, and a strong portfolio of platform-building projects. You are a storyteller, innovator, and team builder who inspires others to push boundaries and shape the next generation of performance and style.
- Extensive experience in advanced apparel design, innovation, and platform creation in performance sport and style
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary creative teams
- Deep knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and sample making
- Strong communication and storytelling skills
- Talent development and team-building capability
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to drive clarity in complex problem spaces
- A minimum of 12 years+ creative experience in design
- Bachelor's degree in Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will lead and evolve Craft Design as a driver of Nike’s future apparel—merging silhouette, construction, and material innovation into platforms that bridge exploration and execution. You will:
- Set the strategy for Craft Design as a cornerstone of Apparel Design Excellence
- Lead the creation of future product platforms, establishing new standards for silhouette, construction, and chassis systems
- Partner closely with Innovation to translate blue-sky thinking into actionable, buildable frameworks
- Define best practices across new material trials, construction innovation, and silhouette exploration
- Collaborate with In-Line Design to ensure platforms empower seasonal execution with consistency and creativity
- Oversee project management and workflow across Craft Design, Form Design, and Sample Making
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure platform integration across the product engine
