WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will be the merchandising squad leader for two highly visible and highly impactful portfolios of business, Kobe and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA). As the leader of both portfolios of business, you will work to craft the vision for the future with global cross functional partners in product, planning, design, finance, planning, integration and sales.

Experience and desirable traits will be…
- Bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
- 5+ years experience in merchandising, product creation, and or retail, in a vertical or wholesale environment
- Footwear, apparel and/or equipment merchandising experience
- People first leader, able to act as both a coach and player
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of basketball, culture and consumer behavior
- Proven strategy builder who can create simple and effective strategy
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Values differences and builds strong relationships with high cultural awareness
- Proven balance of art and science in decision-making
- Self-directed, independent, and dedicated
- Work with pace and respond with speed and agility, curiosity, and motivation
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As a global Kobe and SGA Merchandising Director, you will be responsible for crafting the future merchandising vision for both Kobe and SGA. You will serve as the highest functional merchandising leader at the GM’s table, responding with pace and driving clear decision making both for you and the team. The balance of leading work and doing work will be important.
Your key responsibilities in this role will be…
- TEAM LEADERSHIP. You’ll lead SGA and Kobe to new heights, building a clear strategic vision of success while coaching and inspiring the team. Your job is to set the pace for the team, thinking one step ahead at all times while constantly plugging into a greater strategy.
- LINE PLANING. You’ll build the future line plan that balances growth aspirations with long term vision, embedding the consumer at the center of all decision making.
- ASSORTMENT AND MARKETPLACE. You’ll own and drive one vision for each business and how it will maximize impact in the marketplace. You’ll balance the end in mind and bring a vision to life in the retail marketplace.
- READ AND RESPOND. The business changes daily. Your job will be to be nimble, react with pace, and stand up an offense that makes winning a habit. Minimize distraction, prioritize what matters, drive clarity daily
This role is in Beaverton, Oregon and works with all geography teams (Asia Pacific and Latin America, North America, Greater China and EMEA).
