As Director, Footwear Materials Manufacturing, you will serve as the primary decision-maker for Footwear Materials Manufacturing strategy, while acting as an enterprise leader who influences outcomes across a highly matrixed ecosystem. You will lead the Footwear Materials Manufacturing team and drive materials excellence through strong external engagement and deep cross-functional collaboration, shaping strategy, priorities, and performance across the footwear materials supply base.

You bring significant leadership experience, a strong understanding of footwear materials manufacturing and supply chain dynamics, and the ability to influence at all levels. You are comfortable operating across strategic and operational horizons - setting direction, resolving risk, and driving sustained results - while representing Nike with clarity, credibility, and purpose.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
Set and drive the Footwear Materials Manufacturing strategy, ensuring alignment to Nike’s priorities for quality, sustainability, profitability, delivery and lead-time, and capability building across the footwear materials landscape.
Lead and develop the Footwear Materials Manufacturing team to deliver strong manufacturing performance, balancing seasonal execution with longer-term strategic initiatives.
Drive strategic engagement with external manufacturing partners to elevate capabilities, deliver performance expectations, and resolve complex manufacturing, delivery, and quality issues.
Lead and participate in cross-functional workstreams across Materials Supply Chain, Product Creation, Responsible Supply Chain, Sustainability, and other key partners to influence decisions, deploy initiatives, and unlock new opportunities.
Proactively identify, assess, and lead resolution of manufacturing risks and issues, ensuring timely escalation, clear communication, and durable solutions.
Establish clear priorities, engagement rhythms, and performance insights to enable focused execution, transparency, and continuous improvement.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH
This role manages the Footwear Materials Manufacturing team and reports to the Senior Director of Materials Manufacturing. You will work closely with cross-functional partners across Materials Supply Chain (including Sourcing, Planning, Costing, and Development), Product Supply Chain, Sustainability, and Product Creation teams. You will also engage extensively with external manufacturing partners to drive alignment, performance, and strategic outcomes.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
9+ years of relevant experience in materials manufacturing, supply chain, or product creation, including significant leadership experience
Deep knowledge of footwear materials manufacturing (Specific material type expertise in leathers, synthetics, textiles, components, or chemicals/polymers preferred)
Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations (in English)
Proven ability to influence and lead through a complex, matrixed organization
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Comfort operating through ambiguity and change while maintaining focus on results
Experience driving cross-functional initiatives and resolving complex manufacturing or supply risks
Ability to travel approximately 10%
