WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The right individual for this role is an impact-oriented, self-starter. Reporting to the Senior Director for Supply Chain Procurement, this person will lead a team of procurement strategic sourcing managers / buyers in a complex distribution and fulfillment environment, and must have a proven record of team leadership and mentoring, leading by influence, and empowering the team to deliver procurement results across a complex supply chain network.

Strong engagement with supply chain business partners across distribution, transportation, facilities, and engineering will be critical, and this person will be responsible for managing and fostering key relationships with operations leadership, cross-functional partners in functions such as Finance and Legal, and external supplier base for distribution, transportation, and facilities management services.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate should have comprehensive procurement category management expertise in order to develop joint strategies with 3PL and Transportation category leaders at Nike WHQ in a manner that optimizes spend and ensures supplier service and quality in partnership with supply chain operations teams on the ground.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

  • Minimum of 9 years’ relevant work experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Direct Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing, with a deep understanding of transportation & 3PL service providers.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret spend and cost data, research market trends, identify standard methodologies, and manage supporting contract development activities.

  • Proven experience consulting with business partners, including independently identifying business partner needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.

  • Strong project management: developing action plans, shaping deliverables, and delivering results.

  • Being assertive and knowledgeable to present and convince any audiences on a proposed approach.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Procurement Director, you will partner with senior business leaders, and procurement peers and teams to drive category-aligned strategic sourcing events to support geo-aligned regional logistics initiatives in service to Nike’s supply chain mandate to deliver service, speed, resilience, quality, and cost efficiencies. A typical week for this person would focus on planning and prioritizing initiatives with their team of buyers / sourcing managers in partnership with WHQ-based category directors and leads, developing and socializing these plans with key stakeholders, and coaching and mentoring the team to deliver results against these plans.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Assessing local business needs and partnering with category directors and leads to conduct a gap analysis against industry standards and create the roadmap for short- and long-term alignment

  • Build trusting and collaborative relationships with senior executives across multiple business and services in the geography

  • Support sourcing team to drive TCO approach & execute strategic sourcing strategies and execution in partnership with internal stakeholders

  • Support contract negotiations with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Ensure supplier relationship management established with key transportation & 3PL service providers

  • Establish clear goals to track diversity, inclusion and accessibility within the supply base
