WHO ARE WE LOOKING

We’re looking for an experienced Procurement Director. The leader in this role will be in full charge of managing Nike Greater China Information Technology and Service sourcing activities. The successful candidate will direct the procurement Technology & Service pillar for the Nike Greater China. Participate in procurement modernization program that will add value and efficiency to Nike. Your team will have tactical responsibility for the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems that support the geography procuring and managing contingent workforce and consulting services, sourcing, and purchasing goods or services for internal use.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

  • Regularly evaluate potential cost savings across categories of business spend , including hardware, software, networking, telecoms, datacenter, and services such as contingent workforce and consulting services

  • Recommend and drive other areas for cost savings and efficiencies across the noncompetitive bid expense categories, and lead cost-out initiatives on an on-going basis

  • Serve as the primary contact for procurement-related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation, and alignment by all functions and businesses

  • Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective businesses regarding procurement for their understanding and recommendations to improve policies, procedures and develop, communicate and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed

  • Lead business case preparation, recommendations, and action plans for procurement processes to secure cost savings in these categories, present strategies to key stakeholders, businesses, and finance

  • Manage various aspects of sourcing projects within Nike Greater China and support AP projects when is requested

  • Write complex documents such as Letters of Authorization (LOA) and Statements of Work (SOW)

  • Establish and monitor reporting on post-contract benefits of all new procurement agreements, i.e., Master Service Agreement, benchmarked against the approved business case

  • Establish and monitor post-contract supplier performance, and performance manage non-compliant suppliers

  • Develop strong, functional relationships with key suppliers

  • Be an integral part in developing the category strategy for TechOps, IT and Services

  • Participate on global teams to provide procedural consistency and exchange best practices

  • Follow industry professionals and organizations to maintain an awareness of best practices

  • Ensure that all practices are consistent with industry guidelines and regulations

  • Develop, communicate and administer sourcing team performance and development plans and appraisals

  • Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement team and organization

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

This position reports directly to the Senior Director Procurement for Nike’s Greater China and Asia Pacific & Latin America (based in Shanghai, China). The role is a member of Greater China Procurement Leadership Team. Key functional partners are leaders of Nike’s Marketplace, Technology, GPS, HR, Finance, and Legal.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 10+ years’ experience in Procurement or Sourcing, with 3+ years of people management experience in related industry; preferably in IT/High-Tech, Consumer Goods, Retails or General Merchandising Store

  • Broad knowledge in IT Hardware, Software, Infrastructure, Applications, Networking, Telecoms, Data Center and Software-as-a-Services (SaaS)

  • Experience in partnering with an MSP provider in the contingent labor space preferred in addition to knowledge of both VMS and procurement technology such as (Beeline, Fieldglass, IQN, Coupa or Ariba)

  • Has demonstrated experience with technology procurement engagements with an ability to effectively interpret and work with technology-based contract terms and related documents such as Cloud based, End User License, Subscription, managed services and maintenance agreements

  • Have strong intellect coupled with proficient commercial instincts

  • Strategic innovative thinking and the ability to understand and translate company strategies and operational business needs into future capabilities

  • Comfortable using electronic procurement and sourcing tools such as Coupa

  • Strong influence skill with a good team spirit and approach

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in the English and Chinese language

  • IIAPS qualification or other related procurement certification is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
