The Marketplace Business Development team supports a holistic marketplace strategy to fuel the growth and future of the Nike Marketplace Partners through Expansion pillar (Strategic Accounts, regional Partners, New Partners & White Spaces). Business Development is part of Accelerate offence together with GTM and Digital Sales, aimed to deliver high level of efficiency, speed and professionalism across all Marketplace business processes. The team partners with all Cross Functional EHQ stakeholders (Sport teams, Strategy, MSC, Data &Analytics, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Strategic partners), as well as supports local teams on the ground in countries to be the “eyes and ears of the Marketplace” and help develop integrated opportunities to serve consumers across all NMP Channels of Distribution (i.e. Athletic Specialty, Sporting Goods, Sport Specialty etc). This team directly reports to VP EMEA Marketplace Partners and indirectly to Global Business Development team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a lead manager to join our Marketplace Business Development team in the Nike European headquarters.
In this role, you’ll contribute and support the centralized Marketplace Management for key cities and countries in EMEA Nike Marketplace Partners (NMP). You’ll work with local teams and central stakeholders in their journey to develop a competitive and winning marketplace to gain #1 Marketshare in all Sports x Channels of Distribution.
You’ll work with senior leadership and drive actionable changes to the Nike Marketplace. You’ll join a fun team that will guide and enable you a steep learning curve while being exposed to Nike senior stakeholders. There will be opportunity to travel to key cities and be part of creating the future of Nike.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be working within the business development team in a multi-stakeholder environment, including teams from Go to Market & Digital Sales, Nike Sport Marketplace leadership, strategic account leads and Country leadership teams, as well as creating a strong collaboration with Nike Direct & Nike Partners leadership for full visibility of EMEA Marketplace that impacts Partner decisions.
Key accountabilities:
Support EMEA Marketplace Partner strategy by finding, measuring and sizing up strategic growth opportunities x Sport/Channel/Country/Accounts.
Own E2E process to develop and maintain comprehensive mapping of the EMEA marketplace, including wholesale and retail business, consumer and sport segments, and product categories.
Support in connecting the partner strategic and country plans with future state marketplace mapping. Reflect the impact on the local marketplace per Sport & Channel. Use the marketplace mapping to identify gaps, opportunities, and strategic initiatives for growth.
Support Strategic Business cases, lead a Cross Sales Project/Strategic Priority as part of Broader Business Development team scope (especially if imbedded into CSR, AOP planning processes)
Bring expertise & in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives through problem solving and inclusion of multiple perspectives. Manage ambiguity through non-routine information sharing in a structured way.
Accelerate speed and efficiency across Marketplace functions with standardized reporting, processes and guardrails aligned to our internal policies.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the business development team, GTM and Digital Sales, Marketplace partners, countries and key cities teams to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives, partner with key cross functional stakeholders and Nike retail for insights gathering. Provide analytical support for cross-functional projects.
Engage and provide central improvement, coordination and performance tracking of the NMP for key cities and countries
Communication and Storytelling:
Present the findings in a regular basis for senior management, highlighting key findings, trends, and strategic recommendations.
Present findings in an engaging storytelling, ability to influence discussions and bring different point of view to senior leadership.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report to the Marketplace Business Development Senior Director.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Data Science or a related field.
Extensive experience in business analysis, market research, city mapping or related role.
Strong technical background, quantitative and problem-solving skills. Comfortable with data analysis, visualization, synthesizing big data findings and storytelling.
Macro-economic, business-commercial, strategic acumen, Sr. strategic project management, Sr. stakeholder management.
Experience in market, consumer research and competitive analysis.
Experience in sales, marketplace environment and e-commerce are a plus.
Familiarity with Nike internal data (POS and bookings) and external data analytics tools (Circana, Euromonitor, Edited) and visualization tools (i.e. Tableau).
Ability to manage stakeholders and work collaboratively with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to own end-to-end process (from analysis to drive commercial impact) individually.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills with comfort presenting results to senior leadership.
Curious mind, proactive and “can-do” approach to work with ambiguity and dynamic business needs.
