Merchant II, North America 

For Nike merchants, everything begins and ends with the consumer! We are looking for a consumerist with an affinity for product who enjoys the energy of moving at the pace of retail and our consumer. A successful Merchant will contribute to an inclusive, positive, and progressive team dynamic. WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH  

You’ll partner with several cross-functional teams – consumer planning, product creation, North America Merch, and consumer insights & analytics as well as the gender merchandising teams. A key enabler of your success will be your background and experience in retail.  

This posting is for 2 positions, Merchant II – Women’s NSW AP and Merchant II – Men’s Running & Training – within the North America Merchandising function.     

The roles will leverage their skills in collaboration through multi-faceted partnerships with multiple functions and within merchandising across the consumer groups. Strategic visioning, consumer expertise, and the ability to span across multiple seasons paired with influencing a point of view will be critical for these roles. 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR  

We are looking for curious, energetic, and coachable merchants. You have demonstrated an awareness and understanding of the consumer and the dynamics of the marketplace. You have shown a passion to learn, make mistakes, and grow. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and excited to take on new concepts and ideas. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training 
  • 2+ years of experience in Retail, Merchandising, Product Management, Marketplace, Buying 
  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer and marketplace 
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, experience working on new projects/start-ups/concepts/ideas 
  • Proficiency in analyzing business and consumer trends 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to collaboratively manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to various cross-functional partners 
  • Team first mentality, energy giver 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON  

As a Merchant II, you will enable the strategizing, building, and managing of North America seasonal assortment and product journeys cross-functionally. 

A consistent part of your day-to-day responsibilities will be the detailed management, maintenance and communication of all seasonal tools and assortments. Enabling this effort will be the development of key relationships among cross-functional teammates, comfort with research and analysis, along with a genuine curiosity and commitment to learn and evolve.
