Retail Training Captain - Madrid based

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

As a Training Captain you report directly into your league Director Store Operations & Training, with day-to-day coaching from the Senior training Captain. You partner closely with Retail Directors, Head Coaches, In-Store Trainers, and the EMEA Athlete Service & Training Team.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

In order the to be successful as a Training Captain you will need to meet the following requirements:

Experience, functional competencies and interpersonal skills

  • Passionate about Sport, Retail and Training.

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in store people management or team lead roles (e.g., Coach, Assistant Head Coach, Head Coach supervising direct and indirect teams).

  • A strong team player with demonstrated ability to manage your own schedule and work independently.

  • Able to create cross-functional partnerships within your league and Geo Teams.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English and local languages.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.

  • Proven ability to create and deliver high-impact presentations.

  • Capable of inspiring, engaging, and influencing teammates.

  • Ability to communicate key training initiatives aligned with business priorities with clarity and confidence.

Note: This role requires business travel within assigned geography based on business priorities

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Training Captain role is an in-the-field extension of the EMEA Athlete Service & Training team (AS&T). As a Training Captain, you are responsible for igniting a culture of service and selling, as well as developing the operational acumen needed to create world-class standards, productivity and performance with the support of ISTs from your cluster of stores.

Business

  • Execute the EMEA Win Now strategy through training to drive Nike Stores' priorities via your network of In-Store Trainers (ISTs).

  • Provide dedicated training support to stores as directed by the league's field leadership.

Service & Selling

  • Conduct store visits within your assigned cluster, review training progress, identify training needs, and partner with the store Head Coach and IST to upskill and educate them.

  • Support the training rollout of SOLE initiatives.

  • Plan and scale Training Community activations across Athlete Onboardings, Seasonal Game Time, Service initiatives, and Value Drops, tailoring them to channel and store concepts in close partnership with the League’s Senior Training Captain.

Talent & Culture

  • Partner with your field leaders and Head Coaches to build a strong and diverse team of In-Store Trainers for your cluster of stores.

  • Coach and support the development of ISTs in close collaboration with their Head Coach.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive improved store performance within key measures of success across training, service, and operations.

  • Monitor and recap the completion and success of program launches and downloads in collaboration with your league’s Senior Training Captain.

Brand

  •  Support in-store training teams on Nike brand standards in stores where required.
