WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON
In HR Technology, we build and run platforms that enable how Nike hires, pays, supports, develops, and grows talent - globally. As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a functional engineering team, integrating their work to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable HR technology outcomes across UKG Pro (Workforce Management / Time & Absence), Workday (configuration engineering that supports Core HR, Payroll, Security, Compensation, Benefits, Learning, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management) andSystem Integration.
This role blends people leadership, technical leadership, delivery accountability, and strong partnership with product and business stakeholders. You bring both the experience to lead high‑performing teams and the technical depth to guide solution design and execution when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivery & Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and direction to
ensure high‑quality outcomes. Assign work, review deliverables, and continuously
improve operational processes, system reliability, and delivery practices.
• Strategic leadership: Collaborate with global engineering leaders to set direction for solutions, operating models, and team execution aligned to Nike’s broader HR
technology strategy.
• People Leadership and Development: Inspire and grow high-performing teams
through servant leadership, coaching, and intentional talent development. Foster a
culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
• Effective Communication: Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to
both technical and non-technical stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making
and alignment.
• Trusted Partnership: Works closely with customers to ensure that goals, objectives, and work plans of the group align with the needs of the business. May participate in the review of buy/build and vendor selection decisions.
• Mentoring: Mentor and guide engineers on advanced modules, solution design, and system integration patterns.
• Global: Partner across regions and time zones, with flexibility to support initiatives spanning Asia Pacific, Greater China, EMEA, and the Americas.
• Technology: Leverage experience with UKG Pro, Workday, Jira, ServiceNow, and
Agile methodologies to drive predictable, high‑quality delivery.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
• Partner with other local and global engineering leaders to ensure aligned goals and outcomes.
• Work with product management to understand business requirements and prioritize outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-domain engineers and integration partners to deliver
coordinated solutions.
• Coordinate with internal teams across multiple time zones and regions
• Engage vendors to drive system fixes and influence roadmaps/ideas
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 8–9 years of directly relevant
experience
• 5+ year’s experience with UKG Pro WFM, UKG Workforce Central (WFC), or ADP
eTime.
• 3+ years experience with Workday HCM
• 3+ years Experience leading configuration engineering teams (configuration,
integrations, reporting, and release readiness) supporting UKG Pro for Time and
Workday across HR domains such as Core HR, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits,
and Talent.
• Strong experience in Time & Absence / Attendance configuration, including
experience with UKG platforms (e.g., UKG Pro)
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in an agile environment and operate effectively with tools such as Jira and ServiceNow
