WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This role is based in Busan, and reports to the Footwear Manufacturing Engineering Director.  This role will work collaboratively with external Footwear Manufacturing Partners, across the full Footwear Supply Chain organization, and with other key stakeholders. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Process Engineering teammate, Manufacturing Engineering, Factory Partners and cross functional teams to drive Innovation transition, new tools and systems and forums, compliance with the functional best practices, in support of delivering product excellence and elevating product quality.

Key partners include teams within the Footwear Manufacturing Engineering team and collaborate with other Functions such as Product Innovation, Product Creation, Product Engineering, Sourcing, Responsible Supply Chain, and Cost Engineering in partnership with our Factory Partners, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer is a key player in driving FW Innovation Transition with this role having a strong focus on new chemicals and underfoot solutions (rubbers, foams). This role will also support FW Manufacturing Engineering Director on Product & Process Quality. This candidate needs to have an Engineering background (prefer Chemical Engineering related) with strong communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Engineering, Business Management or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience or training. Master’s degree (in chemical engineering, polymer science or related discipline) is a plus.
  • 6 + years relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Process, Product Innovation, Product Development and Innovation Transition to Manufacturing, Lean, Automation, quality systems implementation and management.
  • Footwear experience is preferred; experience in related industries, or external parties such as Chemical vendors and Footwear manufacturing suppliers may also be considered
  • Experience in applying knowledge of Manufacturing Operations – systems, processes, technologies, and materials required to consistently produce finished goods to a measurable standard –ability to identify opportunities, quantify, communicate, and drive progress against goals is preferred.
  • Comfortable engaging with both external partners and internal stakeholders and building strong partnerships; Ability to maintain focus through ambiguity and change.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills; Project and time management skills; commitment to delivering results, on time; Proficient in standard MS Office programs, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Ability to travel 10%.

  • You will engage in factory partners innovation engineering solutions, project portfolio and modernization solutions. Drive innovation transition and manufacturing improvement through capability building and evolved factory manufacturing readiness assessment.
  • Your typical day/week will include ensuring you’re focused on and progressing against clearly defined weekly and seasonal priorities. You’ll drive an annual calendar of engagement with Factory Partners to deliver results against immediate needs as well as long-term priorities
