This role is part of the AI, Platform Engineering & DevX (APEX) to own Business Intelligence platforms like Cognos, Planning Analytics under Self-Service Operational Analytics & Reporting (SOAR) team.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an ambitious Software Engineer with knowledge in BI Technologies like IBM Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics. You are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is excited by cutting-edge technology, and excels at problem-solving. You should be an excellent communicator, able to explain technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and operate with urgency and integrity.

Key Skills & Traits:

  • Hands-on in BI Technologies like IBM Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics

  • Understanding of cloud concepts and services offered

  • Ability to coordinate with vendors and internal L1/L2 support teams

  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

  • Ensure product and technical features are delivered to spec and on-time

  • Collaborate with and consult other Nike development teams, product and architecture teams

  • Involve in Strategic planning in BI technology area.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering Nike’s next-generation platforms. As a Software Engineer, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to build resilient, scalable solutions, manage platform performance, and ensure high standards of code quality. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining high standards of operational excellence and driving automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and drive the BI platform operations and strategic initiatives.

  • Hands-on experience with one of the BI tools namely IBM Cognos Analytics and Planning Analytics

  • 4-5 years of experience in BI platform engineering and support. 

  • Experience in any programming language like Python, shell scripting etc

  • Work with Product Support to address critical incidents and escalations

  • Knowledge on JIRA, any ticket management tool

  • Install, configure, and maintain BI platform Server and related BI tools 

  • Implement security best practices and compliance standards in AWS 

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for operational tasks 

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize BI applications for performance and availability 

  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills. 

  • Available for On-call rotation

  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system reliability and security.

  • Monitor server performance, disk space, and log files to ensure availability and efficiency

  • Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement
