WHO WILL YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role is a key part of the Enterprise Architecture & Development Platforms team within Enterprise Platforms, where we drive transformative innovation to enable growth and build the essential tools that power our organizations success. As an engineer in our team, you will partner closely with our leadership, Product Managers, Solution Architects, Principal Engineers, and peers across Global Technology to manage priorities and drive alignment on technical decisions.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialising in platform building tools and technologies like Kubernetes, AWS, DevOps and deep knowledge in anyone of the programming language like Python/Go/Java. You are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is excited by cutting-edge technology, and excels at problem-solving. You should be an excellent communicator, able to explain technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and operate with urgency and integrity.
Key Skills & Traits:
Cloud Platforms: AWS with service like EKS, Load Balancer, Networking, S3,EC2 or similar services in Azure/GCP.
Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS, AKS).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and scripting (Python, Shell, Groovy)
Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation
Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana, and Open Telemetry.
Experience in enterprise API development using REST and gRPC technologies.
Strong troubleshooting and performance optimisation skills
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ensure solutions are designed and developed using a scalable, highly resilient cloud native architecture
Ensure product and technical features are delivered to spec and on-time
Collaborate with and consult other Nike development teams, product and architecture teams
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering Nike’s next-generation platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to build resilient, scalable solutions, manage platform performance, and ensure high standards of code quality. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining high standards of operational excellence and driving automation.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Oversee and drive the observability platform operations and strategic initiatives.
Provide engineering support for observability platform build using open source technologies
Install, configure, and maintain observability platform cluster and components and related tools
Manage and optimise AWS resources
Implement security best practices and compliance standards in AWS and platform.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for operational tasks
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployments
Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to scope and deliver new features
Collaborate with product managers to scope new features and capabilities.
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
7+ years of experience in enterprise application development, platform engineering and support.
Strong understanding of cloud-native and serverless architectures
Experience with platform upgrades, vendor engagement, and support coordination
Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement
Familiarity with data governance, security features, and performance optimization.
Keen attention to detail with a growth mindset and the desire to explore new technologies.
