Based in Beaverton, OR, as the Global Jordan Senior Director Catalyst Relationship Management you will be a part of the Global Jordan Energy team. This team is responsible for taking risks that drive relevance for all Jordan Sports, while exploring new spaces to incubate meaningful, net-new growth opportunities.

  • Showcasing an innovative mindset; the ability to think outside the box and drive new ideas from inception to reality 
  • Producing outputs that have ‘Never Been Done Before’ within our Industry
  • Blending ideas with counterparts across functions, and all Jordan Sports; Streetwear, Basketball, American Football, Golf, Training, Global Football, Baseball, etc. 
  • Providing functional expertise to execute Seasonal Concepts that blur the lines of Streetwear, Sport and New Cultural Spaces for Jordan Brand  
  • Authentically representing the Jordan Brand’s history and future in key communities, and in key external partnerships

In this leadership role you will develop the strategy to grow and maintain Jordan’s presence in the zeitgeist and ensure that we are always at the center of the intersection of court, culture and community. This will include the ways we in which we engage within the cultural communities and how we deepen the relationships with innovative cultural leaders. Keeping the overall strategy in mind, you will input into the global portfolio planning, lead and drive discussions with our cross functional partners to define  opportunities, develop the overarching positioning, strategic intent, and other business-critical components for a successful partnership. You will oversee high level aspects of our projects and partnerships and lead the team to deliver best in class service to our external partners.

What will you work on? 

Covering Energy, the scope of your day-to-day work will focus on Energy, and therefore your style and influence will have to adapt accordingly, depending on which segment of the Jordan Energy Offense the work is focused on. Your work will help us achieve our objective of driving relevance for all Jordan Sports, while exploring new spaces to incubate meaningful, net-new growth opportunities. Supporting work across all segments; White Spaces, Ignite and/or Sub Labels & Brand Partnerships. You must be consistently collaborative and open to the opinions and expertise of those you engage with.

In this role your core duties will include: 

  • Serve on the Global Catalyst Relationship Management Leadership Team where you will input into overall functional portfolio planning and ways of working
  • Serve on the Global Energy Leadership Team to ensure connectivity into the Strategy, Vision and Seasonal Plans set by General Management, finding ways to integrate our partners in impactful and meaningful ways
  • Collaborate and serve as thought partner with the GEO Energy Team leads to understand all GEO needs for catalysts (cultural influencers) and integrate the portfolio accordingly
  • Drive and maintain a powerful network and portfolio of cultural influencers, to keep Jordan relevant in culture and energize the brand
  • Mapping Global and Regional catalysts, including shared frameworks, overarching positioning, strategy, and objective behind each partnership
  • Serve as a leader and mentor to a team of direct and in-direct reports who will carry out the day-to-day management of our external partners
  • Develop best practices for partner management, both execute and delegate partnerships
  • Provide creative and strategic acumen to input into brand and partnership plans
  • Gather structured and continuous insights to allow us to better serve the consumer and enterprise needs
  • Gain insights from external partners and share back to all relevant teams to input into strategic planning, marketing plans and overall management of the project
  • Communicate with internal partners for all questions, needs, concerns and requests of external partner - balance and assess asks/needs in conjunction with overall strategy, business objectives and project scope

Who will you work with? 

You will be part of Catalyst Relationship Management function, reporting directly to the General Manager, Vice President of Global Jordan Energy. In this role you will work with Energy teammates in Global, Geo and Cities, across all Geographies (Geos), always with a growth mindset to contribute towards a World-class team.

You will work cross functionally in the Michael Jordan office on the Philip H. Knight Campus particularly with the Relationship Management function, aligning on roles & responsibilities, to bring your vision for Partnerships to life.

What you bring to Jordan? 

A successful candidate will be expected to clearly demonstrate and articulate experience of the below essential requirements in order to be considered. Candidates that meet these criteria will then be assessed based on the competencies also outlined below.

Essential Requirements: 

  • Deep passion and knowledge of fashion, design and pop culture and the Nike brand
  • Strong inter-personal, communication and organizational skills required
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams

-              Strong knowledge of design, art, style/fashion leaders influencing cultural now and next  

-              Strong knowledge of the collaboration and special project landscape across Industries   

-              7-9 years of experience developing and maintaining relationships with cultural leaders and integrating them into brand plans

  • Proven leadership skills in managing/influencing teams and implementing key business initiatives
  • Proven connections with influential Cultural Influencers and thought leaders (Fashion, Design, Art, etc.) Globally and in all Geographies (GEOs) 

-              Essential to have experience in identifying and building powerful long-term relationships, which delivers success for both the talent the business

-              Prior experience in category, brand or account management, able to define and understand the full spectrum of the city and visionary consumer and a desire to better connect with them through your relationships
