WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Inventory Team at NIKE drives operational excellence through precision, accountability and collaboration. The Inventory Point Guard leads the Cycle Count program and ensures SAP and WMS systems remain in sync. Reporting to the Inventory DC Coach in Foothill Ranch, California, they partner with Operations, Inventory, and cross-functional teams across North America, reflecting NIKE’s culture of innovation, agility, and impact.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities and moderate decision-making skills in a fast-paced distribution center environment. They are detail-oriented, capable of working independently with limited supervision, and consistently meet deadlines under pressure. This individual proactively identifies and resolves inventory discrepancies, prioritizes reconciliation tasks daily, and suggests improvements to existing processes. They are comfortable escalating issues directly to a Coach when needed and often serve as an informal resource for peers. Their communication—both written and verbal—is clear and effective across all levels of personnel.
- Minimum 3 years of inventory-related problem-solving experience in a distribution center.
- Proficient with warehouse management systems and devices (e.g., RF Scanner, cycle count tasks, DCMS, SAP).
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite and inventory tracking systems.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and interact confidently with all levels, including management.
- Skilled in multiple processes or deeply knowledgeable in one (e.g., WMoS-SAP relationship, product flow).
- Acts as an informal resource for less experienced colleagues.
- Completes reports and communicate effectively in writing and speech.
- Use existing processes to resolve complex inventory issues (e.g., system imbalances, virtual inventory accuracy).
- Comfortable with ambiguity and limited supervision.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As an Inventory Point Guard, you ensure inventory accuracy and support operational efficiency. You handle system balancing, resolve exceptions, and assist with unit adjustments—all while helping peers and maintaining customer satisfaction with minimal supervision.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Balancing inventory between WMoS and SAP, including failed transactions and financial-impacting adjustments.
- Resolving inventory exceptions like wave deselections, blocked/virtual inventory, broken pre-packs, ASN aging, and inactive product disposition.
- Supporting special projects and reporting needs tied to inventory anomalies.
- Coordinating routine administrative tasks and assisting cross-functional teams with unit adjustment assessments.
- Providing informal peer training and acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
- Conducting inventory research and advanced clerical support.
- Working independently while ensuring inventory levels meet customer demand.
