The annual base salary for this position ranges from $126,700.00 in our lowest geographic market to $258,400.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The role is part of Geographies and Marketplace Expansion (GaME) BI team focused on Stores and Competitive Insights. The role will interact with other engineers in the space and partner with product management to serve the business needs.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a passionate Lead Data Engineer, to be a part of Nike’s Geographies and Marketplace Expansion (GaME) BI team, specifically serving the stores and competitive insights business teams. You will play a critical role in developing the next generation of BI solutions helping our business teams make decisions faster and better. This position requires technical curiosity and intuition for business along with strong data engineering and visualization skills. We are looking for someone to drive, own, and ship all aspects of large, multi-functional efforts and feature areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training

  • 10+ years of technology related experience required

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Spark, Python

  • Hands-on experience of working with Databricks, AWS, Snowflake

  • Hands on experience of working with visualization tools like Tableau, Looker etc.

  • Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data streaming.

  • Experience with implementing CI/CD and leading teams with DevOps responsibilities of deploying and supporting the software in production

  • Retail/Direct to consumer domain understanding is a plus

  • Knowledge of leveraging Agentic AI is a plus

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Lead the design and build of large-scale BI solutions.

  • Technology stack leveraged is Databricks, Spark, Python, Tableau, PowerBI Datasets

  • Contributing ideas for new features and identifying technical areas for improvement proactively 

  • Collaborate with upstream and downstream technical teams to develop integrations to provide a seamless flow of our data to business.

  • Provide technical leadership and best engineering practices to continuously deliver working software by mentoring other developers

  • As the Lead Engineer you will use your in-depth experience in software development to write clean, tested, and well-documented code, as well as lead the peer code review process and mentor other engineers on the team.

  • Explore new technology advancements like Agentic AI and incorporate them into the BI solutions to create value for Nike.
