Lead Software Engineer


We are looking for an experienced and visionary Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic
team and help shape the future of Nike’s digital products. In this role, you will take ownership of
complex, high-impact projects while leading a talented group of engineers. You will collaborate
with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and high-performance solutions across
WeChat platforms. Your leadership will guide the team in building robust, user-centric applications
and ensure the adoption of best practices for both development and deployment.
Scope and Responsibilities:


As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:
• Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex technical solutions with a focus
on scalability, performance, and user experience, including WeChat Mini Programs
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, guiding them through
problem-solving and ensuring alignment with project goals
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other technical leaders to define
and refine product requirements
• Set strategic direction for technology adoption, ensuring the team uses the best tools,
frameworks, and platforms to meet both business and technical objectives
• Champion the use of cloud technologies and microservices architecture (AWS, Ali Cloud,
etc.) across the development lifecycle
• Ensure the successful integration of front-end and back-end systems, leveraging
technologies such as React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and WeChat Mini
Program frameworks
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of scalable and reliable data structure to serve
databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Cassandra) and relational databases
• Mentor and provide guidance on coding best practices, test-driven development (TDD),
and quality assurance to foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Champion Nike’s innovation agenda by identifying new technologies and opportunities to
improve development processes and the end-user experience
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture, inspiring your team to
continuously evolve and stay at the forefront of technology trends
• Advocate technical direction, define best practices and principles
• Ensure that products meet the highest standards in terms of reliability, availability, and
maintainability


Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (master’s degree is a plus)
8+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a
leadership role
• Proven experience leading and mentoring teams of engineers, driving the delivery of
complex technical projects across web, mobile, and WeChat Mini Program platforms
Strong proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies including React, Node.js,
JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, and WeChat Mini Program frameworks (WeChat SDK,
WXML, WXSS)
• Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.), including experience with
microservices and distributed systems
• Deep understanding of NoSQL and relational databases (Cassandra, DynamoDB,
MySQL, etc.)
• Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization technologies
Strong experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices
architectures
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for automation and continuous integration
(CI/CD)
• Expertise in security, privacy, and performance optimization in large-scale, high-
availability applications
