WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a highly organized Materials Developer II who is an experienced project manager and has a deep understanding of construction, textiles, trims, and graphics to join our team. A key part of this role is understanding the full scope of product creation from design concept to production. A Materials Developer II is a versatile, highly creative problem solver and a forward-thinking person who thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are an active participant in cross functional discussions, leading the team with technical recommendations. Our ideal candidate can communicate effectively in varied settings and is able to influence the team when needed, while demonstrating credibility and reliability. They will also create and/or implement material innovations into products that will enhance and inspire Athlete* performance. We are looking for someone who is optimistic, self-aware, embraces change, holds themselves accountable for their decisions and actions, actively seeks feedback to grow and develop, values and respects the opinions of their teammates, and embraces the diversity of people, ideas, and cultures.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will work within the Converse Jack Purcell team, managing your assigned styles collaboratively with your cross functional partners to bring creative solutions and ensure the finished product meets or exceeds the required end use. You will review prototype materials and samples, shepherding the styles through the creation process while meeting gates and dates to ensure on-time production.
- You are appointed as a dedicated Material Developer to build a forward-looking materials and trims collection that strengthens our long-term product differentiation.
- Develop scalable materials for consumers that meet performance, sustainability, trend and cost expectations
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on sampling and prototyping of materials; communicate and address key issues/challenges during development and plan accordingly to deliver proven and tested materials on time.
- Contributes to and executes on material best practices, standards, and educational tools.
- Communicate with vendors effectively to foster a culture of creativity and quality-first thinking.
- Keep abreast of market trends, new technology and consumer preferences.
WHAT YOU BRING
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in textile science, product design, or related field.
- Two years’ additional product creation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 3+ years development experience in the footwear industry, which includes the footwear development process from inception through production including construction, materials, costing, print / graphics, manufacturing and quality.
- Understanding of product specs and footwear construction along with the ability to interpret design intent and offer alternative material solutions.
- Ability to act as a technical resource, mentor others and lead initiatives through high energy and positive influence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to excel in a deadline driven environment. Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with attention to detail and process orientation.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs, confidence using Adobe Illustrator and familiarity with Design CADs
- Ability to travel 20% (domestic and international).

Independientemente del puesto, queremos conocerte a ti, a tu yo en su totalidad, así que comparte quién eres, qué te hace singular y qué deseas hacer.
03 Entrevista
