WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Reporting to the Director, Communications, Southeast Asia & India (SEA&I), and partnering closely with the Senior Professional, Communications, SEA&I, this role is an individual contributor based in India. You’ll collaborate with key stakeholders across Nike India, as well as communications teams at the territory (SEA&I), geography (APLA), and global levels. You’ll work closely with the Nike India leadership team, contribute to the Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) Communications team, and regularly engage with global teammates.

As the Communications Lead for India, you will design and deliver innovative, targeted strategies that engage audiences and position Nike as the leading sport and innovation brand.
This is a pivotal moment for Nike India as we accelerate growth and deepen our local strategy. We need a confident communicator who can sit at the leadership table as a trusted thought partner and expert in building impactful communications strategies for this key market. Collaboration and relationship-building are essential, alongside the ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for sport.
10+ years of experience in high-profile corporate communications and/or public relations roles supporting globally recognized brands, preferably within India. Experience with major brands and the footwear/apparel industry is a plus.
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Communications or a related field.
Location in Mumbai or Bangalore for proximity to stakeholders. If based in Mumbai, regular travel to Nike India HQ in Bangalore and occasional travel to SEA&I HQ in Singapore is required. If based in Bangalore, regular travel to Mumbai or Delhi for media engagement is expected.
Expertise in corporate communications, issues management, consumer and product communications, strategic planning, budgeting, and creative solutions.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong media relationships end-to-end.
Experience advising senior executives, articulating ideas clearly, managing differing viewpoints, and strengthening relationships.
Ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix, including presenting to diverse audiences.
Agility to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment and make sound judgment calls.
Experience managing employee communications, including leader notes and town halls.
Ability to manage agencies effectively to deliver insights, strategies, and best-in-class storytelling, events, and partnerships.
Excellent verbal and written English proficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this dynamic role, you will shape Nike’s positioning in India by creating strategies that engage internal and external audiences and elevate our brand.
Support senior executives, including the GM of Nike India, with communications strategies for employees, media, and key external stakeholders such as government officials, retail partners, athletes, and sports teams.
Build and drive the Nike India Communications Strategy in alignment with SEA&I and Global plans.
Manage global communications initiatives, issues, media relationships, athlete engagement, 360° media plans, events, product seeding, and employee communications.
Work across a diverse portfolio—from Cricket and Running to corporate storytelling—within an accelerating marketplace.
Engage employees with Nike’s vision for the future while connecting them to global strategies and sport culture through curated communications initiatives.
Travel within SEA&I or globally as needed to host media at Nike events, lead bespoke programs for India media, brief spokespeople, capture content, and manage coverage outcomes.
Establish foundational excellence for the function in India, including best practices, local storytelling, and strategic milestones, in partnership with the Director of Communications SEA&I.
Lead and manage agency partners as true extensions of the team while building strong relationships across SEA&I, APLA, and India.
While focused on India, you may occasionally support broader SEA&I initiatives and collaborate with teammates.
