WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This teammate will partner with internal specialists as well as leadership across the Bowerman Footwear Labs Manufacturing, Prototyping, and Engineering teams. The Sr Material Librarian works cross-functionally with material managers, material coordinators, and product management to deliver footwear and footwear prototypes to our collaborators across Nike’s Footwear ecosystem.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Rapid prototyping of footwear concepts is essential to product creation and decision-making at Nike! We do everything from incubating new designs and technologies to producing one-of-a-kind products for Nike’s most high-profile Athletes and Influencers. Our team is a vital component in crafting the future of Footwear. We’re looking for a Senior Material Librarian to be part of the Bowerman Footwear Lab at Nike’s World Headquarters.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training

  • A minimum of 3 years directly relevant work experience

  • Education or experience in Library and Information Science, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred

  • Two years’ experience in collection development, circulation, inventory management or materials development. Or any combination of experience and education.

  • A deep understanding of collection development and management, especially in a non-traditional library setting. 

  • Experience working with outside vendors, especially vendors from outside of North America.

  • Excellent customer service skills with both our internal and external collaborators.

  • Strong interpersonal skills within a collaborative team environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong change management skills, as well as versatility in responding to change.

  • Familiarity with footwear materials and shoe manufacturing processes.

  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to the given audience, present information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be a key member of the Operations Team in the Bowerman Footwear Lab at Nike’s World Headquarters. In this role you will partner with our prototyping, engineering, and manufacturing teams to organize and maintain a library of all available materials needed to support the development of amazing new footwear products. 

  • You will be responsible for organizing, cataloging, and tracking usage of all materials for the BFL

  • You will collaborate with your teammates to develop collection retention policies and will assist materials coordinators and other teammates on selecting and pulling materials for projects
