WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Senior Merchant will be the conduit between the consumer and Nike regarding product & merchandising strategies, working closely with Planning, Marketing, Sales and fellow merchandising teammates both locally and in the Asia Pacific and Latin America Geography. 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As the Nike Senior Merchant- Pacific, your primary purpose is to build seasonal assortments to align with strategic product priorities, growth targets, and serve at the pace of the local consumer. Your focus will be through 3 priorities:

Consumerist: Amplify the voice of the kid’s consumer and marketplace upstream to Asia Pacific and Latin America Merchandise leaders (APLA) based in World HQ, to turn insights into “consumer right” assortments for our marketplace.

Curator: Deliver curated, productive & profitable assortments with an “end in mind” vision and to win with the Pacific consumer.

Connector: Land the Sport x Marketplace Strategy through close partnership with Cross-Functional Teams.

  • 5+ years experience in a wholesale / retail Buyer Merchandise role.
  • The candidate should possess retail acumen and analytical abilities.
  • Understand retail environments (including digital) and bring a consumerist perspective to the team and business.
  • We’re looking for an individual with a desire to influence across teams and functions and work collaboratively to build seasonal assortment plans with retail end-in-mind.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

Through close collaboration with APLA Sport Merchandising teams, you will drive assortment priorities aligned to consumer and marketplace strategy. You will be a highly effective and engaged member of the Pacific cross-functional marketplace teams to support seasonal initiatives and ignite the Sport x Marketplace priorities ​with the following work:

  • Drive the product lifecycle to align with consumer/member pace, balancing innovation, newness, and consistency across the consumer framework.
  • Lead with a consumer-first mindset to deliver a strategically aligned Kids assortment and buy, supporting both online and in-store journeys.
  • Own the Product Assortment Strategy for Kids Apparel, Footwear, and Equipment in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring >80% consumer-right assortment adoption.
  • Drive franchise health and growth across the portfolio, aligned with strategic intent, financial targets, and franchise management guardrails.
  • Provide rich consumer, assortment, and buying context to Merchandising and MPU teams, supporting DSM through planning processes like allocations and buy reviews.
  • Partner with Geo Merchandising on seasonal product assortment strategies, offering consumer insights and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Lead partner engagement for priority Kids accounts (Pre-SKO, SKO), fostering alignment and readiness across key stakeholders.

In this role you will need a seasonless mindset, balancing newness and consistency and to drive portfolio health and balance through support of corporate strategy, and in-depth knowledge of local business needs. You will have alignment with Visual Merchandising of how Nike Kids merchandising shows up in our market for your sport assortments.
