WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will report directly to the Director of Vendor Strategy under the Head of Vendor Strategy & Business Management for Global Technology.  You will work closely with peers in Performance Management, Partnerships and Innovation, Vendor Business Management and functional partners such as Procurement and Legal, stakeholders in Global Technology. This world is located at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR and is not remote eligible.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a Vendor Strategy Manager to join our newly formed Vendor Strategy & Business Management organization in Global Technology who will be part of a team of dynamic, high performing professionals supporting Nike’s strategic technology initiatives. They’ll be an integral member of a team responsible for building trusting and meaningful relationships with our technology executives across multiple technology functions. They must be able to drive stakeholder alignment across Nike functions and geographies. It is important they understand Nike’s business needs and leverage data and market research to determine and enable strategic objectives. They must have a strong understanding of foundational technology vendors and frameworks, perform and understand market analytics, and be able to research and develop expertise across technology categories while working on a team focused on maximize value for NIKE through our engagements with external partners.

This role will serve as a member of Vendor Strategy and Business Management organization specifically residing on the Vendor Strategy team. As an individual contributor, you will be part of supporting development and deployment of vendor strategies for our critical partners and objectives while ensuring we create return on investments and build valuable relationships with and between the NIKE matrix and our most strategic suppliers.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, pre-law or related field with 5+ years directly relevant work experience in Vendor Strategy, Vendor Management, Technology Procurement, or Technology Business Operations Management.
  • MBA, or graduate degree preferred
  • Knowledge of standard contract structures and key terms
  • Work experience directly with Hardware, Software, Cloud/IaaS, and Security (HW and SW) sourcing including experience negotiating strategic multi-year contracts with Tier 1 Technology suppliers (examples include Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, Amazon, and others).
  • Ability to drive insights from unstructured data

NIKE Vendor Strategy Managers will be part of the vendor lifecycle ensuring proper execution of activities are to the highest standard including vendor strategies, spend analysis, ability to run support executive business reviews, contract management, risk management, competitive events and delivery with Procurement, contracting with Legal, performance reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
