POSITION LOCATION & SCHEDULE
This position is based at our beautiful world-wide headquarters location in Beaverton, Oregon. The position follows a "4/1 Hybrid" schedule (Mondays-Thursdays in the office with Fridays optional at home).
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
This is an exciting role! You will work directly with customer teams. You will bring your energy and energize the customer. You will learn as you go because the frontiers move constantly. You will provide professional services to customers in locations like Portland, Boston, Hilversum, Gdansk, Bangalore and Shanghai. If you are currently a data engineer and believe you could be effective as a consultant or guide to other data engineers then this job is probably a good fit.
Our Portfolio includes capabilities for infrastructure (Nike Platform Engine - NPE), storage (Data Tech Foundation), movement & transformation (Near Real-Time Data) and analysis (BI/Analytics Tech Foundation). These capabilities are delivered as products or managed services and built from COTS and OSS products (e.g. EKS, Kafka, NiFi, Databricks, Tableau, etc.).
Essential Job Functions
- Collaborate with customers on software development projects
- Create reference implementations as a byproduct of engagements
- Develop training content. Perform classroom and on-demand instruction
- Provide user feedback, as a voice of the customer, to platform development teams
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work with key technology teams across all Nike geographies and functional domains. You will help them implement the most advanced capabilities in the technology landscape. You'll ensure EADP customers are successful when adopting foundational platforms.
Customer Success Engineering's scope includes:
- Engagements: We host regular meetings with customer teams and guide them through adoption. We align them with architectural goals, guide them through challenges, connect them with architects and create POCs demonstrating how to use platforms.
- Reference Implementations: During engagements, we create POC code for customers. Later, we generalize that code and offer reusable artifacts.
- Training: We create training classes and do hands-on instruction so large groups become proficient quickly. We create on-demand training that is published internally.
- Feedback: We advocate with platform development teams to improve their products, using the customer’s voice.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field, or relevant professional experience, education, and training
- 6+ years of industry and software development experience
- Ideally, you are a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one of these:
- Infrastructure: NPE: Kubernetes, EKS, ECS
- Data Streaming: NSP: Kafka, Confluent
- Data storage & transformation: SOLE: Databricks
Capable and experienced with:
- Build data engineering solutions in multiple programming languages such as: Java, Python, Golang, and Node.js
- Cloud architecture: Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or Azure
- Securing RESTful APIs and Apps using OAuth, OpenID Connect, and JWT a plus
- Distributed code repositories, CI/CD Pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Ansible)
- NiFi & Airflow
You must be capable in the following areas to be credible with our customers:
- Excellent communication skills
- Must possess a Customer Service mindset - we create customer delight!
- Previous Professional Services experience is a not required; but preferred
- You must be curious. We like to ask “why?” in a way that opens the discussion up for dialog
