Role Overview
This role leads the end-to-end global merchandising strategy and seasonal assortment ownership for NikeSKIMS, accountable for building, governing, and activating seasonal assortments across Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories (AXS). The position serves as the single point of global merchandising ownership and clarity, creating assortment strategy and marketplace segmentation strategy ensuring full‑line adoption, and consumer‑led assortments across all geographies, channels, and partners.
This leader operates at the intersection of strategy, execution, and curation, partnering closely with Nike and SKIMS stakeholders across Merch, Product, Planning, Ops, Retail, and Geo teams.
What You’ll Work On
Global Assortment Strategy & Ownership
- Own global seasonal assortments across Apparel, Footwear, and AXS.
- Build style, color, and size frameworks, including drops, launch cadence, and newness vs. carryover decisions.
- Maintain AV, Excel, and Keynote as the single source of truth for global and geo teams.
- Clearly define non‑negotiables vs. flex areas (style adoption vs. depth) in assortment adoption with Geo merch partners.
Geo Partnership & Marketplace Alignment
- Strategize product/assortment segmentation and drive assortment alignment across Nike Direct, wholesale, and strategic marketplace partners.
- Partner with NA, EMEA, APLA, and GC on seasonality, climate, and capacity considerations.
- Lead geo workshops to adapt global direction within retail constraints.
Seasonal Line Planning & Roadmaps
- Partner with product team on seasonal Line planning, roadmaps, long‑range views, and investment framing. (Seasonal Style & CC target)
- Drive global drop calendars, flow, and launch sequencing.
- Lead merchandising inputs into GTM, GGP, and IBA for marketplace execution.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Partner with Design and PLM on styling, key looks, color validation, materials, and naming.
- Align with Planning on style ranking for investment, size curves, depth logic, carryovers, cancels, and buy timing.
- Collaborate with Ops, PIA, and Systems on AV readiness, MMX, imagery, and flow.
- Support Marketing and Digital product readiness.
Performance Tracking & Seasonal Hindsight Leadership
- Review weekly POS and launch performance; translate insights into future assortments.
- Drive seasonal hindsight and continuous improvement.
Retail & Visual Merchandising Input
- Partner with VMS and Retail team on fixture strategy, capacity constraints, and brand storytelling at retail.
- Define Nike Direct layouts, capacity frameworks, and minimum viable footprints by store size.
- Collaborate to provide merchandising framework and strategy for future retail concepts and vision for NikeSkims.
Governance & Communication
- Act as the central point of merchandising clarity across Merch, Planning, Geo, Product, Operations, and SKIMS partners.
Who We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in merchandising.
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
- Strong global merchandising leadership experience across Apparel and Footwear.
- Proven ability to lead complex, matrixed, and partnership‑driven businesses with clarity and influence.
- Deep understanding of consumer‑led assortment building, and performance analysis.
- Exceptional cross‑functional influence, clarity, and decision‑making skills.
- Highly organized, decisive, and comfortable operating at the intersection of strategy, execution, and governance.
- HIGHLY entrepreneurial and able to work in an ambiguous, resource constrained and off Nike process environment.
