Flow Co-Ordinator – Midnight shift

BRIMLEY DISTRIBUTION CENTRE, TORONTO, CANADA

Shifts:

AM Shift – Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm

PM Shift – Monday – Friday 3pm – 11:30pm

Midnight Shift- Sunday – Thursday – 11pm – 7:30am

You’ll be working in a collaborative environment with individuals from a number of different departments in order to help focus the goals of the business.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills. They must be able to influence a team towards a common goal. The ideal candidates must have strong communication skills. They should promote an environment of open communication, and be able to problem solve in a quick and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a post-secondary degree in a related discipline
  • In lieu of degree: 1 year of warehouse experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in using KPIs and other performance metrics
  • Strong workflow management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and ability to meet deadlines required
  • Ability to streamline work, avoid bottlenecks, reduce errors, and increase customer satisfaction
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools like COGNOS, Microsoft Excel, etc.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with warehouse flow management and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of equipment planning and workload management
  • Familiarity with reconciliation and receiving processes

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Flow Co-ordinator is responsible for coordinating operational departments in order to help ensure a consistent workflow without interruptions. Additionally, the co-ordinator will inspire, challenge, and coach the team to follow established policies, create new ones when needed, and address exceptions and opportunities. The goal is to ensure smooth operations, effective collaboration between departments, and continuous improvement to meet business goals.

  • Warehouse Flow Management: Request and manage waves, determine wave size, influence the movement of headcount, and monitor waves for clean-up
  • Reporting: Provide hourly updates, understand monthly throughput capacity, plan weekly targets, forecast headcount, and track daily metrics in conjunction with Operations Management
  • Shift Management: Track progress hourly, assist in headcount adjustment, plan and process open waves, reconcile cartons, close waves, and address roadblocks
  • Problem-Solving: Gather and record issues, maintain a problem log, generate end-of-shift reports, and conduct handoff meetings
  • Flow Management: Ensure consistent workflow, inspire and coach the team, check the HR X HR board, address delayed tasks, ensure team follows policies, clarify priorities, set goals, allocate resources, communicate expectations, track progress, resolve issues, and optimize performance
