WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As a member of the Nike Energy QS Product Development team, you’ll collaborate with key internal and external partners—including Engineering, Testing, Material Design and Development, Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Operations—to drive product excellence. Reporting to the Footwear Development Manager, you’ll navigate Nike’s matrixed organization to align with best practices, serve as the primary contact for overseas partners, and ensure clear, accurate communication throughout the development process.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Footwear Product Developer II, you’ll lead product and process excellence across diverse projects—translating briefs and design concepts into samples that meet both consumer and business needs. You’ll drive internal collaboration to spark new ideas and energize key Nike footwear initiatives that reflect cultural movements and Sneaker Culture. We’re seeking a self-starter and curious problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, communicates clearly, and embraces autonomy, adaptability, and learning through experimentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
- Minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
- Strong team first mentality that instils trust to deliver product excellence
- Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and product creation process
- Experience in project management
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving and results orientated
- Ability to prioritize multiple work streams with competing priorities to deliver on tight timelines
- Keen interest in Lifestyle and Sports Footwear
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As a Footwear Developer II, you will drive product creation from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with performance, profitability, and sustainability goals. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to confirm manufacturability and apply sport-specific insights to validate product performance through testing. As part of your day-to-day responsibilities, you will:
- Lead decisions to ensure timely product confirmation and sample delivery
- Execute product creation aligned with critical timelines and business targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability
- Apply footwear expertise and sport-specific knowledge to meet design intent
- Conduct physical and field testing to validate fit and performance
- Recommend materials, components, and constructions to meet product goals
- Oversee all phases of development to ensure commercialization and sustainability
