On the NIKE Footwear Product Creation Team, our work starts with understanding the needs of our consumer and ends with delivering products that exceed those needs. Our technical and project management skills allow us to contribute to the design of new products. We ensure that those products perform at the level our consumers demand, are able to be produced at scale and at a cost that is on target, and are delivered to our customers on time. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON 

 

In the role of a Nike Footwear Product Creation Intern you will work across functions to create the world’s most innovative footwear products. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of the athlete* and applying that understanding to develop new concepts, solve problems, and identify means to improve performance. You will be asked to work collaboratively on initiatives within the team and be exposed to the cross-functional Nike matrix. Technical Development, Global Sourcing and Manufacturing, Innovation, etc.).  

 

This role involves solving complex challenges and bringing fresh opinions to existing processes and solutions. Intern opportunities exist within the following areas: 

  • Footwear Materials Development – Researching and investigating materials for product lines and production is how we make an impact with a focus on sustainability and performance. 

  • Footwear Product Development – We work with Design and Operations to bring products to life! 

  • Footwear Product Testing – We constantly test our ideas, ensuring Nike products are fit to best serve athletes*.  

  • Product Engineering – Nike Designers push the limits, and in Product Engineering, we find ways to make it work.  

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR  

 

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a Polymer Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Textiles or related field with a graduation date between Winter 2026 and Summer 2027 

  • Knowledge of materials, formation, construction, and manufacturing  

  • Knowledge of footwear sourcing, global processes, and events from product concept to delivery is preferred 

  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, remain flexible, and get results and work within a matrixed organization  

  • Proficiency using MS Office applications
