Nike Digital Product Design executes thoughtful design solutions for business and consumer problems at scale. We craft the overall form and function of our digital products — defining the user experiences and interfaces for Nike’s internal and consumer-facing experiences.

We are looking for a Digital Product Designer II for the Nike Podium Design System team. Our mission is to Co-create the design system that translates Nike’s magic into the world’s most loved digital experiences. We do this by designing and developing highly flexible reusable UI that can be used across Nike’s portfolio of digital products and accelerate team’s abilities to create elevated brand experiences for external and internal users. We believe a design system is never done and pour our creativity into inspiring and empowering digital innovation at Nike.

We hustle, we sweat the details and we constantly collaborate in and outside our team. Podium is a horizontal team that works across Nike Digital Product Design, has a strong aim as a catalyst and is focused on helping drive Nike digital to move at the speed of sport. You will be working horizontally with product team partners who are using and implementing Podium. With these partners you will collaborate, support and user test. The role will report directly to the Senior Design Manager of the Podium Team.

When work needs to get done, your hand is first in the air. You’re a key player on the team – moving quickly from concept to polished design as you iterate on ideas and implement features. And you do it all with humble confidence.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in end-to-end digital product design with experience in visual and UX

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in design or related field (UX/UI design, human-computer interaction, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with the particulars of designing for digital/physical experiences

  • Well-versed in typography, layout and composition

  • Ability to design polished work that represents the Nike brand through visual comps, wireframes and prototypes

  • A strong attention to detail

  • Hands-on creative and systems problem solver with strong UX/UI/IA design expertise

  • Demonstrated user-centric design approach and insights-based design process

  • Strong collaborator with product managers, engineers, writers, researchers and marketers

  • Proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, Principle and Keynote

  • Cross-platform design experience (Web, Android, iOS, emails)

  • UI motion design experience with tools like After Effects – familiarity with 3D, AR & VR is a plus

  • Good at presenting your work; learning to communicate design intentions and the gravity around ideas

  • Passion for the Nike brand, sports and for creating high-quality work

  • A fascination with innovation and technology and a solid understanding of digital tools and trends

What you will work on

As a Designer II, you will work on several aspects of the Podium Design System including but not limited to, component and pattern creation, updates and support for system usage, Figma libraries and community resources, collaborative efforts with product teams, presentational and storytelling materials. You will work amongst senior and lead designers on the team as well as closely with engineering partners and product lead to ensure successful delivery of projects that map to team goals and the long term design system roadmap.

  • Designing and producing components, patterns, foundational styles and design language all brought to life through well crafted and highly polished design artifacts and documentation

  • Bringing a systems perspective of scalability to the what our users need from the system while pushing designs to be compelling and performant

  • Developing design solutions using participatory and iterative techniques including user interviews, observation, usability testing, validation, and design thinking brainstorms and workshops

  • Designing incredibly polished work that represents the Nike brand and product experience through visual comps, wireframes, flows and prototypes

  • Participating in strategic conversations and decision making processes with the team, cross functional partners and user community to help guide the direction of the Design System

  • Rapidly iterating on design concepts – from initial briefing through final delivery
