WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will work closely with fellow merchants and buyers across Nike Canada, partnering cross‑functionally with Planning, Allocation, Finance, Analytics, Operations, Consumer Merchandising, and Brand Marketing. This role supports both Nike Value Stores (NVS) and Clearance, operating within Canada’s business‑unit‑led merchandising structure to deliver consumer‑right assortments informed by quantitative and qualitative business reporting including sales, inventory, margin and consumer insights.
You will report to a Nike Canada Merchandising Director, collaborating across brands, genders and product engines to serve the unique needs of the Canadian marketplace.

This role is responsible for curating and adapting consumer‑right assortments for the Nike Value Stores and Clearance doors in the Canadian marketplace. You will leverage historical performance, analytics and real‑time market feedback to influence future seasonal strategies while winning today through in‑season read‑and‑react decision making. This role requires comfort balancing sales, margin and inventory objectives, and making disciplined decisions that protect long‑term marketplace health.
The ideal candidate brings proven retail and analytical capability, a deep understanding of Canadian consumers, and a balanced point of view that blends data‑driven insights with strong merchant intuition.
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising or Buying, Fashion Business & Tech or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
3+ years of experience in footwear or apparel buying and/or merchandising within a vertical, multi‑brand or digital retail environment, with demonstrated commercial and consumer‑centric decision making
Experience across Footwear, Apparel, Equipment or related consumer products
Advanced Excel skills
Understanding of retail and profit‑based metrics including sell‑through, inventory turn, ASP and margin
Ability to develop strong working relationships with teammates and cross‑functional partners
Strong attention to detail and understanding of process, consistency and marketplace impact
Ability to travel up to 20%
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will own bringing seasonal assortments to life for Nike Canada’s Value Marketplace, ensuring alignment across brands (Nike and Jordan), genders and product engines while managing the unique dynamics of NVS and Clearance within the Canadian marketplace. Key responsibilities include:
Curating consumer‑right assortments for Nike Value Stores and Clearance, balancing rebuy, inline/full‑price and closeout inventory to deliver profitability while maintaining a healthy Canadian marketplace
Driving in‑season business performance against sales, margin and inventory KPIs through weekly performance reads, marketplace insights and agile read‑and‑react actions
Partnering with Planning and Finance to ensure assortments support Canadian financial targets and inventory strategies
Participating in seasonal buy reviews, line planning and in‑season trading to optimize growth opportunities
Leveraging marketplace insights, consumer feedback and performance data to inform future seasonal strategies and influence cross‑functional decision making
Contributing to a cohesive, Canada‑specific merchandising strategy that reflects local consumer needs while aligning with broader North America direction. At every step, you will advocate for the Canadian consumer while balancing brand expression and value expectations.
The annual base compensation for this position generally ranges from $85,400 to $128,100. Actual compensation will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
