WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role reports directly to the Sr. Director, Planning (Korea DSM Lead), based in Korea, and closely collaborates with internal planning groups, including EBP (Enterprise Business Planning), IO (Inventory Operations), and NDDC (Nike Direct Digital Commerce)/NSP (Nike Store Partnered) /NMP (Nike Marketplace Partners) Planning within DSM (Demand and Supply Management).
Externally, this role will work with cross-functional teams, including the Field Nike Stores Director, Senior Retail Managers (SRMs) for NSO (Nike Store Owned) and NVS (Nike Value Store) Marketplace, Finance, Merchandising (both Territory and Geo), and MSC (Marketplace Supply Chain). Additionally, you will engage with 20 Owned Stores teams.
This role will also collaborate with Central Planning and Consumer Planning teams in Geo DSM and work closely with MFPs (Merchandise Financial Planning), ISA (In-Season Analyst), LP (Location Planning), and Allocators in the NDS (Nike Direct Stores) Planning team as a team manager.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a candidate who can lead/drive consumer-driven plans that deliver Nike’s Revenue, Margin, Inventory, and Profitability Goals by managing Nike Direct Owned Store Planners directly. You’re also required to land strategic growth of CxFoP (Consumer X Field of Play) ensuring plans to achieve NSO/NVS Channel goals and priorities as well as fulfil consumer demands in the marketplace, and this candidate should also maximize business opportunity and performance potential.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Planning, Merchandising, Retail/Sales, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Deep expertise in consumer insights, product strategies, and marketplace dynamics.
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of retail metrics (e.g., stock & sales planning, gross-to-net planning, shipment planning, and liquidation planning).
- Enterprise-wide mindset with the ability to make data-driven financial decisions.
- Strategic thinking skills to align mid-to-long-term growth strategies with cross-functional leaders.
- Proven leadership experience in influencing teams and managing complexity with an optimistic, results-driven approach.
- Team management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Korean, with the ability to convey plans and results through storytelling.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will be responsible for monthly, seasonal, and annual planning activities for NSO and NVS channels, ensuring revenue, margin, and inventory targets are met through:
- MFP financial planning, Location Planning, Pricing & Promotion Planning, and Allocation Planning.
- Ensuring MFPs develop RSV (Retail Sales Value), SSP (Stock & Sales Plan) , and N2G plans based on consumer and marketplace growth drivers, aligned with KPIs.
- Providing insights into monthly forecasts, identifying Retail Sales and Inventory risks/opportunities (R&Os), and recommending in-season actions.
- Implementing global and geo-level planning capabilities, including Stock & Sales Planning, Open-To-Buy, Allocation, and Pricing & Promotions.
- Leading and influencing cross-functional partners through a strong planning perspective.
- Delivering key seasonal milestones and collaborating with stakeholders for seamless execution.
Focus areas for NSO:
- Maintain optimal store capacity through consumer demand-based MFP forecasting and RTV (Return to Vendor)/CXL processes.
- Deliver a consumer-right assortment (CxFoP) through geo-driven buying processes and compelling seasonal initiatives.
- Support elevated consumer experiences and best-in-class seasonal execution through optimized allocation strategies.
Focus areas for NVS:
- Maintain optimal store capacity to maximize consumer demand while ensuring effective marketplace cleanup through liquidation.
- Develop and execute pricing and promotional strategies to serve value consumers effectively.
- Optimize Rebuy vs. Closeout decisions in close collaboration with Inventory Ops and Marketplace Planning teams.
