WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role will report into the Director, Streetwear Merchandising - Jordan EMEA.
As part of the Streetwear offense, the Footwear Lead Merchant will drive the CODE gates (calendar) and partner with x-functional counterparts to bring the strategy to life from a product and assortment perspective. The key stakeholders include the other Streetwear Lead Merchants, Global Merchandising, Channel merchandising, Sales, Brand, Planning, Operations.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Footwear Streetwear Lead Merchant is responsible for defining and landing the strategic product & merchandising plans for EMEA. The scope of the role runs all the way from future season assortments / Line planning informed by consumer insights and market data to seasonal hand-over to the full Marketplace teams, with a clear assortment vision by channel of distribution. In this role, you will master the CODE (calendar) process and be an authority in handling a wide and diverse portfolio of stakeholders at the same time with effective influencing as well as strong communication skills. A Merchandising leader requires a curious mindset, a thorough understanding of the consumer and marketplace dynamics and a natural drive towards data driven decision making at every step of the process.
Requirements:
Proven experience in leading merchandising and/or with extensive sales experience, with a strong understanding of the EMEA marketplace.
A desire to simplify and the ability to translate complex strategies into simple and concrete plans.
Meaningful experience and thorough understanding of the sport and streetwear industry and culture (product, retail, merchandising, competitors).
Ability to work with peers, cross functional partners, and senior management on all aspects of the business within a matrix organizational set-up.
Strategic thinking, able to evolve and drive change combining both art and science.
A clear understanding of the EMEA consumer, marketplace and trends.
Ability to deliver results against tight and complex timelines with competing priorities.
Strong business orientation, analytical appetence, and retail math mastering.
Validated track-record of successful stakeholder relationship and influencing skills.
A forward looking, optimistic and curious attitude with a clear bias for action.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
In this role, you will leverage consumer insights and marketplace data to champion the voice of consumers and influence stakeholders.
You will drive the strategic intent of each product franchise within the coordinated marketplace, ensuring segmentation and differentiation within channels and accounts, in partnership with Channel Merchants and Sales representatives.
You are responsible for handling a healthy, diverse and profitable product mix, through effective coordination of the assortment, buy and trade decisions, in partnership with planning teams.
You will craft and deliver important product journeys to build long term profitable franchises to help build a balanced and diversified product portfolio.
Also, you will deliver insights and compelling briefs both to Global Merchandising and the Regional Product Engine (GEL) to create hyperlocal products.
