WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Principal, Flow Mitigation & Preparedness serves as a strategic leader responsible for strengthening Nike's ability to anticipate, prepare for, and mitigate supply chain risks across the Global Supply Chain network. Working across the breadth of Supply Chain Operations, this role partners closely with Operations leaders, external logistics providers, and key cross-functional stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, assess potential business impacts, and drive mitigation strategies that protect service performance and product flow.

This leader is accountable for translating risk insights into operational action, ensuring preparedness plans, mitigation strategies, and response frameworks are established ahead of potential disruptions. By connecting strategic risk management with day-to-day operations, they enable teams to make informed decisions, respond effectively to changing conditions, and minimize impacts to Nike's business, consumers, and marketplace partners. Through proactive planning, cross-functional leadership, and disciplined execution, this role plays a critical part in maintaining the stability and performance of Nike's global supply chain network.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a proven supply chain leader with deep experience in risk identification, mitigation planning, and data-driven decision making. They bring a strong understanding of global supply chain operations and are skilled at assessing risks, developing structured mitigation frameworks, and translating complex challenges into actionable strategies. This individual excels at creating clarity in ambiguous situations, partnering across a diverse set of stakeholders, and establishing operating models that enable effective decision making and execution across complex environments.

They are a strategic and systems-oriented thinker who can anticipate potential impacts, influence cross-functional partners, and drive measurable outcomes at scale. The successful candidate has experience working with third-party providers to gather risk intelligence, monitor emerging threats, and translate external insights into practical mitigation strategies, preparedness plans, and operational frameworks for Nike. They thrive in dynamic environments, build alignment without formal authority, and are passionate about embedding proactive risk identification and mitigation into day-to-day operations to minimize disruption and protect Nike's business, consumers, and marketplace partners.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in supply chain, vendor management, or related fields.

  • Proven experience managing cross functional programs with a broad group of stakeholders.

  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills in complex and ambiguous environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and influence skills with suppliers and cross-functional partners (in English).

  • Strong working knowledge of supply chain and operations ecosystem.

  • Ability to perform standard office‑based work (extended computer use, meetings, travel as required)

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Principal, Flow Mitigation & Preparedness is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact Nike's global supply chain. You will partner across Operations and with external providers to translate risk insights into preparedness plans, mitigation strategies, and actions that protect product flow and service performance.

  • You will be part of the Supply Chain Flow organization, partnering closely with Transportation, Logistics, Planning, Distribution, Procurement, and external service providers to identify risks and align mitigation strategies across the network.

  • You will work directly with a third-party risk intelligence provider, leveraging external insights, market signals, and emerging threat assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and translate them into actionable plans for Nike.

  • You will develop and maintain risk assessment frameworks, mitigation playbooks, and preparedness plans that help operational teams make informed decisions before disruptions occur.

  • You will lead cross-functional discussions to evaluate potential risks across transportation networks, carrier capacity, geopolitical events, weather events, and other factors that could impact product flow.

  • You will use data, scenario analysis, and operational insights to quantify potential impacts, prioritize actions, and recommend mitigation strategies that protect service, speed, and cost performance.

  • You will build alignment across diverse stakeholders without formal authority, helping teams shift from reactive problem solving to proactive risk identification, preparedness, and mitigation.

  • You will thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment where no two days are the same—one day developing preparedness frameworks and mitigation strategies, the next responding to an emerging disruption and helping operational teams determine the best path forward.
