WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

As a key member of our engineering team, you will optimally operate within our dynamic, cloud-based environment, contributing to its evolution, reviewing and providing feedback on peers' technical designs, code, and tests, and thriving in a collaborative, agile setting that encourages experimentation, innovation, initiative, and mentorship. You will also leverage data analysis and machine learning techniques to inform consumer insights, practice DevOps principles for seamless testing, automation, and monitoring, and partner with cross-functional teams to scale and loosely couple our service-oriented architecture (SOA) ecosystem.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

As a Software Engineer II in the Retail Commerce Team, you will lay the groundwork for highly scalable solutions for Nike B&M stores. In this role, you will be implementing solutions and automated processes that allow for the rapid delivery of software. You will be part of an agile team responsible for delivering solutions that help own the global business processes within the four walls of the stores in over 35 countries. Some of the solutions that the team works on include Point of Sale and other key initiatives. This is a team that's always on the offense, working on innovative solutions and creating opportunities and solutions for the business!

You'll have below expertise

  • 4+ years of experience with Java, Spring, NodeJS

  • 2+ years of experience with cloud experience; preferably on AWS platform along with Microservices and Point of Sale experience

  • Web API, Mock Framework, Dependency Injection, Agile Methodologies, GitHub, Jenkins experience preferred

  • Continuous integration and deployment practices  

  • Experience with agile development practice preferred

  • Experience with Node 14+, Jest Unit Testing

  • A track record of solving problems and getting things done in a fast paced, evolving environment

  • Leadership capability, including the ability to empower and mentor others

  • Thinking and planning strategically, with the ability to communicate the strategy to a large organization

  • Delivering sophisticated, cross-functional IT projects and/or programs

  • Pulling a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

  • As part of an agile team, you will help develop large and complex project implementations.

  • Build best practices and coordinate the current engineering practices within the team.

  • Mentor and train other specialists within the team.

  • Advocate for new technologies or solutions within and outside of the team.

  • Demonstrate your interest in data and data analysis to understand our consumers and how they engage with our ecosystem.

  • Practice DevOps ensuring a culture of testing and releasing software to stores using automation and monitoring.

  • Partner with other engineering and product teams to loosely couple and scale the service ecosystem.
