We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team and oversee the development and implementation of data integration foundation platforms and datawarehouse platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, leadership experience, and the ability to work in a global, matrixed corporate environment. In addition, this role requires specific expertise in cloud, software development, and IT infrastructure.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Develop and implement hiring strategies to attract top engineering talent
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of engineers with expertise in Data Integration Technologies like Informatica, Autosys, MAP, MFT and EDI
  • Own end-to-end Engineering Delivery of your platforms. Manage specific team budget & develop annual operating plans in alignment with roadmap and platform strategy.
  • Partner and engage with multiple data engineering squads and their leadership to align on platform-centric roadmap & requirements that will support thousands of data engineers and data scientists.
  • Partner with Principal Engineers & Principal Architects to develop tools and frameworks for improving security, reliability, maintainability, availability, scalability, self-serviceability and performance of your platform’s foundation.
  • Work with a global customer base to understand their needs and build solutions that meet those needs
  • Manage and prioritize engineering projects to ensure timely delivery
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our engineering practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth integration of engineering solutions
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering; preferably in the cloud or infrastructure space
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Expertise in at least one major cloud platform such as AWS or Azure
  • Background in leading/managing platforms/products in the Data Engineering & Orchestration Space.
  • Experience with modern data integration platforms such as IDMC, MAP and AUTOSYS
  • Experience in managing Databases in global scale and strong in managing operations
  • Deep foundational knowledge of software engineering practices, particularly on distributed systems and cloud native architectures.
  • Strong communication, ability to influence, solve complex problems, and leadership ability while being a team player are a must.
  • Ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a way that inspires and motivates a team and focuses their energy on achieving business goals.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to bring diverse groups together to solve common goals.
  • Focused leader of people and teams dedicated to empowering and growing team members rooted in trust and aligned to Nike's Maxims.
  • Skilled in providing analysis and estimation of the strategic and financial value of new products / features.
  • Pragmatic mindset, highly focused on delivery and customer value rooted in continuous delivery of world class resilient, scalable systems.
