WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will support the Footwear Material Costing Team, while working closely with Material Sourcing, Planning, Finance and Product Manager teams. You will connect with Material Developers, Chemical Engineers, Suppliers, and Factory Partners to understand manufacturing processes and associated sustainability initiatives. In your role, you will serve as a key contact for footwear material costing trends, reports, and metrics.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for an analytical and contextual contributor capable of approaching material costing through a connected lens. Nike thrives on teamwork and leadership, and the right candidate will bring motivation, engagement, and creativity to the team each day. The candidate needs to have an inclusive mindset and team player mentality while also bringing a detail-oriented approach and thrive in problem solving environments. This individual will need to effectively communicate with global teammates, work cross-culturally, and value differences daily. The ideal candidate will also bring a curious mindset, proactive approach, and a critical focus on cost transparency.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, procurement, supply chain or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
Experience: Seeking a candidate with at least 2 years in material costing, finance, sourcing, manufacturing, operations, or supply chain prior role; project management experience is a plus.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with footwear construction, material manufacturing, and costing preferred; exposure to raw material commodity markets and forecasting is beneficial.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with outstanding interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is preferred; knowledge of data analytics programming (SQL, Python, Tableau) is a plus.
Data Management: Experience in developing and maintaining material/product data within an information management system.
Work Attributes: Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail; must be a proactive team player with cultural awareness and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; willingness to travel up to 5%.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As an integral part of the Footwear Material Costing team, you will be partnering with functional and material subject matter experts to research industry commodities, update costing models, and translate macro raw material trends into finished material cost expectations. You will be responsible for tracking global commodity markets, exploring value engineering opportunities, and operating supply chain cost negotiation tools. You will help support critical cost management processes and governance through new standardized tools and reporting platforms.
