At Nike’s Global Places & Services (GPS) organization, we design and bring to life physical environments and experiences for Nike and the athlete* in more than 100 cities around the world. We deliver GPS’s key capabilities in location, built environments, events, sport, nutrition and mobility, through our strategic partners and third-party providers.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You’ll be reporting to the Director of GPS Places Center of Excellence, on GPS’ Places Team. This is a collaborative and cross-functional role. You’ll work closely with our Design, Real Estate, Services, and Operations teams. You’ll partner with Nike functions such as Technology, and Resilience as well as with GPS leaders from nodes around the world.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Lead Building Specialist to combine their knowledge of project management, project costs, project metrics and workplace standards from a global center with innovative thinking and analytical problem solving. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and proactive. They lead with an enterprise approach and have strong organizational skills.
This person has a strong understanding of construction project processes and excels at applying this knowledge within a global center of excellence.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and cross-cultural sensitivity are required to engage with user groups and to build networks with GPS and other key Nike partners.
The candidate needs:
- Bachelor’s degree relevant field
- At least 8 years direct relevant work experience in construction project management, architecture or related field.
- Leadership of large-scale, cross-functional initiatives at a Fortune 500 company.
- A proven track record of collaborating and influencing in a highly-matrixed organization across a variety of internal and external partners.
- Strong understanding of design, construction processes, project costs and contracts.
- Highly-developed communication skills – in verbal, written and graphic forms.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
This role will lead PM tools and templates, metrics and construction cost benchmarking to advance our delivery of corporate offices and distribution centers. This role is instrumental in shaping Nike’s work environment to bring innovation and enhance productivity, and to enable GPS’ delivery to be faster, more efficient, and more predictable. In this role, you will:
- Develop templates, tools and standards to enable Places team to deliver their work faster, simpler and more predictably
- Develop key metrics to be tracked by the Places team
- Develop and implement global annual cost guardrails for corporate and distribution center locations
- Provide training to local teams to implement the globally defined standards
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure adherence to established standards and guideline
- Create clear and concise documentation, using a tone that’s on-brand for Nike
- Lead and manage partners and supplier relationships.
- Continuously improve and update standards and guidelines based on industry trends and feedback.
