WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
As a member of NIKE’s WHQ Engineering team you will be focusing on footwear product excellence best practices that ultimately drive and support quality, craftsmanship and efficiency. You'll enable basketball product deliverables that are crafted, manufactured, cost effective and meet performance and quality expectations of the athlete* and consumer. You'll collaborate with offshore and onshore teams providing input on design, material choices, costing and construction. You’ll facilitate the basketball category's continued growth through the development of new designs, materials and manufacturing techniques.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Lead Product Engineer on the Basketball Engineering Team to provide technical expertise to the Basketball category team making early recommendations on footwear product construction techniques and creative upper/tooling solutions. You will collaborate with Functional Engineering, Design, Marketing, Innovation & Product Creation teams to provide direction for material choices, design and construction alleviating potential manufacturing or costing concerns. Junior members of the team will look to you to share knowledge and facilitate their understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures. You will also be expected to lead and manage functional engineering projects working with various team members from within and outside of Nike.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training
A minimum of 6 years directly relevant years of work experience
5+ years of relevant industry experience in a manufacturing or research and development field (chemical, manufacturing, product testing, plastic molding, industrial or mechanical engineering)
Knowledge of footwear product fabrication, pattern engineering, tooling and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches and / or 3D digital files
Digital literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, database management and proficiency with 2D/3D CAD/CAM tools, pattern engineering software is a plus
Open to work in Oregon state onsite at WHQ
Physical requirement’s ability to lift minimum of 35lbs
Ability to balance Innovation & Manufacturing is preferred
Strong creative problem-solving skills
Project management skills working with various stakeholders with competing priorities
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Ability to travel international up to 10%, as needed
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
The successful candidate will understand upper, tooling, process engineering and have experience with overseas factory experience. Keeping environment guidelines top of mind, you will partner with offshore teams, to develop new material and fabrication processes/techniques. We are looking to you to provide a multi-solution path approach and creative problem solving to deliver product excellence for our consumers. We need someone that is confident reading and interpreting technical drawings as well as analyzing process data to develop refined product specifications.

Proficient in CAD with ability to interrogate a 3D model & the ability to synthesize data to draw conclusions
