WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This Lead Manufacturing Systems Engineer role is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and reports to the Director, Manufacturing & Systems Engineering, North Asia. The role sits within Nike’s Manufacturing Engineering team and works closely with Product Risk Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE), Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, and APAC manufacturing partners to strengthen foundational capabilities across quality, lean manufacturing, industrial engineering, and garment engineering.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a manufacturing systems engineering leader with strong experience in quality, lean manufacturing, industrial engineering, and garment engineering. The ideal candidate brings proven process engineering capability, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to partner across functions and with manufacturing partners to elevate operational performance. This person should be comfortable translating Nike’s manufacturing strategies into standardized processes, measurable outcomes, and practical execution plans across the APAC partner base.

  • 3–5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, with a strong foundation in quality, lean manufacturing, industrial engineering, and garment engineering.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and guide engineering teams.

  • Proficiency in process engineering, General Sewing Data (GSD), factory capacity planning, and manufacturing optimization.

  • Experience implementing and sustaining continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will lead the development and implementation of foundational manufacturing capabilities across Nike’s APAC partner base, connecting quality, lean manufacturing, industrial engineering, garment engineering, and advanced manufacturing practices to improve readiness, execution, consistency, and product performance.

  • You will develop and implement quality, lean manufacturing, industrial engineering, and garment engineering principles with Nike manufacturing partners to elevate overall manufacturing capability.

  • You will partner with Product Risk Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to align manufacturing priorities with Nike’s strategic goals.

  • You will deploy Nike product performance standards and help standardize manufacturing processes to drive consistency and efficiency across the APAC partner base.

  • You will leverage manufacturing integration, engineering tools, and quality/process engineering best practices to mitigate risk before production.

  • You will support world-class production quality engineering processes to help ensure products are made right the first time.

  • You will apply post-production measurement, verification, inspections, audits, and marketplace feedback to inform product and manufacturing decisions.

  • You will establish and track performance metrics to evaluate the impact of manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
