WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for a Merchandise Financial Planner (MFP) to join our Team!

As a Merchandise Financial Planner, you will be responsible for defining and leading multi-season fiscal and inventory plans for the geo, gender and/or marketplace unit (MPU.) You will play a pivotal role in developing plans to serve consumer demand while adjusting and aligning based on targets and actuals.

You can build hypothesis & data driven analysis, translating insights into action through problem solving and critical thinking skills. You possess a deep understanding of marketplace, product and inventory planning and can drive actions that are grounded in qualitative research, data and insights to support your views. You are a great collaborator who proactively builds positive relationships across the organization with upstream and downstream functions. Using your strong financial and commercial acuity, you show good judgment in making decisions and problem solving.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

If this is you, you’ll be working with the Marketplace Units (MPUs) and broader Merchandise Financial Planning team to define and lead multi-season Merchandise Financial Plans for the geo, consumer, and marketplace units. You will set and run end-to-end fiscal and inventory plans, as well as reconcile assortment plans with merchandise financial plans to align to the consumer architecture. Your top-down financial targets will inform franchise/style plans, financial forecasts, and end-to-end inventory forecasts.

  • Construct and lead pre- and in-Season merchandise financial business plans (MFP -, Revenue, Margin and Inventory) for Geo, Gender, MPUs to inform Financial Forecasts and E2E Inventory Forecasts

  • Influence between tops down fiscal targets and bottoms up assortment plans to achieve strategic financial objectives through available supply and consumer signals

  • Reconcile Assortment Plan with Merchandise Financial Plan to align to the Consumer Architecture and strategy

  • Determine cross-MPU trade-off actions to drive consumer demand, Nike and partner margin and optimize overall marketplace inventory health

  • Guide strategic outlook for multi-season fiscal shape

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will work both within the Nike DSM function and across the broader cross-functional organization including partnering closely with Marketplace/MPUs, Planning, S&IP, EBP, Location Planning, Finance and others to deliver financial business targets both pre-season and in-season. You will also work across MPUs to drive consumer demand, Nike and Partner margin and optimize overall marketplace inventory health.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • 4+ years experience in retail planning

  • Ability to collate and understand relevant market data that integrates and informs the Merchandise Financial Plan; assessing risk and solving problems to deliver business results

  • Strong command of Retail metrics including Retail Sales, ST%, WOS, Inventories (marketplace + DC), Revenue and Margin with the ability to manipulate data for efficient outcome

  • Elevated storytelling and communication capabilities; ability to pivot from numbers into action-oriented insights

  • Strong ability to influence & communicate effectively. Listen actively and contribute to advance the conversation.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and analytical capabilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
