WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role is part of the Korea PMO (Partner Management Office) Product Creation team and works closely with cross functional footwear partners including Innovation, Design, Product Management, Product Development, Materials, Product Testing, PCC (Product Creation Center), Global Sourcing, and Planning. The role serves as the primary point of contact between PCC/PMO partners and the PHK product team, ensuring clear and accurate communication throughout the product development process. This position reports to the Director of Product Engineering based in Korea.


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is looking for a Lead Footwear Product Engineer to support NSW (Nike Sportswear) Energy, based in Korea. This role requires a strong technical foundation in footwear engineering combined with the ability to lead, collaborate, and solve complex problems within a fast paced product creation environment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in footwear development, demonstrates strong engineering leadership, and is comfortable influencing across functions and geographies. This person is a self starter, a clear communicator, and a trusted partner who can effectively build relationships and drive product and process excellence across Global Footwear Product Creation teams.

  • Minimum of 6+ years of directly applicable footwear development or engineering experience across multiple footwear categories
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, or training
  • Strong technical expertise in footwear construction including lasts, upper patterns, materials, chemistry, bottom tooling, injection, plates, costing, and test methodologies
  • Solid understanding of the end to end footwear product creation process, including production planning, forecasting, and scheduling
  • Demonstrated experience driving innovation through the INLINE Product Creation Process
  • Proven ability to lead engineering initiatives or strategies across broader footwear teams or functions
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 15% of the time

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will work on highly technical NSW Energy footwear products, driving product and process excellence within a collaborative, cross functional environment. You will translate project briefs and 2D design tech packs into physical footwear samples that meet athlete, consumer, and business needs while providing technical leadership across Product Creation teams.

  • Identify and resolve key construction and manufacturing challenges to improve product performance and quality
  • Engage in all phases of the product creation process to ensure projects are delivered on time and to critical dates
  • Partner with cross functional teams to meet design intent, performance goals, costing and profitability targets, sustainability objectives, and product integrity standards
  • Provide footwear engineering technical training and consultation to Product Creation and PCC teams
  • Lead the development and adoption of engineering standards and best practice documentation to scale globally
  • Collaborate closely with global and regional partners to ensure consistent execution and clear communication
