WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This role will report into the Sr Manager of Jordan Sport Merchandising in EMEA. As part of the Sport offense, you (Lead Sport Merchant) will drive the CODE gates (calendar) and partner with x-functional counterparts to bring the strategy to life from a product and assortment perspective.
You will work closely with your cross-functional partners (DSM, Marketing, Marketplace) as well as the wider Jordan merchandising team across consumer and marketplace.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Lead Product Merchant Sport for Jordan Brand in EMEA. In this role you will be driving the Jordan Sport product merchandising strategy for our consumers (for Men’s, Women’s and Kids, FTW, Apparel and accessories), with a primary focus on Basketball as a Jordan Sport dimension (secondary focus: Global Football, Golf & Training).
The scope of the role runs all the way from future season assortments / Line planning informed by consumer insights and market data to seasonal hand-over to the full Marketplace teams, with a clear assortment vision by channel of distribution.
We are seeking an avid product enthusiast, consumer obsessed, passionate & knowledgeable about the sports Jordan operates in.
This person will master the CODE (calendar) process and be an authority in handling a wide and diverse portfolio of stakeholders at the same time with effective influencing as well as strong communication skills. A Merchandising leader requires a curious mindset, a thorough understanding of the consumer and marketplace dynamics and a natural drive towards data driven decision making at every step of the process.
This person brings
Proven experience in leading merchandising and/or with extensive sales experience, with a strong understanding of the EMEA marketplace.
A desire to simplify and the ability to translate complex strategies into simple and concrete plans.
Meaningful experience and thorough understanding of the sport and streetwear industry and culture (product, retail, merchandising, competitors).
Strong ability to work with peers, cross functional partners, and senior management on all aspects of the business within a matrix organizational set-up.
Strategic thinking, able to evolve and drive change combining both art and science.
A clear understanding of the EMEA consumer, marketplace and trends.
Ability to deliver results against tight and complex timelines with competing priorities.
Strong business orientation, analytical appetence, and retail math mastering.
Validated track-record of successful stakeholder relationship and influencing skills.
A forward looking, optimistic and curious attitude with a clear bias for action.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Leverage consumer insights and marketplace data to champion the voice of consumers and influence stakeholders, both at geo & global level, throughout the seasonal calendar (CODE).
You will drive the strategic intent of each product franchise within the coordinated marketplace, ensuring segmentation and differentiation within channels and accounts, in partnership with Channel Merchants and Sales representatives, to deliver and exceed our business expectations.
You will handle a healthy, diverse and profitable product mix, through effective coordination of the assortment, buy and trade decisions, in partnership with planning teams.
You will craft and deliver a strong merchandising strategy, inclusive of important product journeys to build long term profitable franchises to help build a balanced and diversified product portfolio.
Deliver insights and compelling briefs both to Global Merchandising and the Regional Product Engine (GEL) to create hyperlocal products, where applicable.
