WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Based in Berlin, this role sits within Nike’s German Communications team and partners closely with colleagues across EMEA. You’ll work side-by-side with local and regional Communications, Marketing, Sports Marketing and Sales to shape powerful storytelling that inspires consumers and athletes. You’ll report directly to the Communications Director, Germany, and collaborate with creators, media partners and sports communities across the country.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re searching for a Lead Professional, Media Relations (all genders) who brings deep expertise in communications and an exceptional understanding of the German media landscape. You know how sport influences culture, style and communities—and you understand the pivotal role football plays in Germany’s cultural and business environment.

You think strategically, act collaboratively and move with agility. You’re a natural storyteller with a strong POV, and you can confidently guide partners at all levels. You identify opportunities before they surface, build meaningful relationships and elevate narratives that resonate with today’s athletes and consumers. Curiosity, creativity and a growth mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in corporate communications or public relations for major sports or global organizations

  • Strong senior-level media network in Germany across traditional, social and football-specific outlets

  • Deep understanding of evolving social and sports platforms, tools and technologies—especially those that connect with Gen Z

  • Proven track record creating and executing strategic communications plans that drive narrative-led storytelling

  • Strong end‑to‑end project management skills including planning, creative development, execution, budgeting and agency management.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You’ll develop and deliver communications strategies that strengthen Nike’s leadership in sport and football, while fueling brand energy through culture, style and storytelling. You’ll elevate Nike’s voice in the German market and build meaningful connections with the consumers and communities we serve.

In this role, you will:

  • Craft and execute Germany‑specific mid‑ and long‑term communications strategies with a strong focus on football storytelling

  • Lead sports‑ and culture‑driven communication moments and campaigns, managing all phases from concept to execution

  • Build, nurture and leverage a sophisticated media and creator network to amplify Nike’s narrative

  • Identify and activate new opportunities at the intersection of sport, culture and style, with a focus on German Football

  • Build new media ecosystems that connect authentically with the next generation of athletes and creators

  • Present strategies confidently and navigate the matrix to champion the value and impact of Communications

  • Manage critical issues with clarity and calm to protect and strengthen brand and corporate reputation.
