WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Lead Program Manager, Circular Product & Materials will be part of the Global Sustainability Circularity team based in Nike WHQ, reporting to the Director of Circularity. They will be responsible for program management across Nike’s global enterprise to reduce waste and advance circular solutions for materials and product creation. Examples of key internal partners include: Nike Grind, Sustainable Product, Responsible Supply Chain, Analytics, Marketplace, Engineering, Material Supply Chain, AirMI, Demand & Supply Management, Innovation, Government & Public Affairs, Legal, and others.  

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an experienced manager who is self-motivated, results-oriented, and passionate about leading change across a global enterprise. The Manager must be a data-driven, strategic thinker who can analyze complex challenges and prioritize among many competing demands. You will be expected to leverage your industry experience and subject matter expertise in recycling/circularity to drive impact for Nike’s business and the planet. The candidate needs to be able to lead projects independently and work effectively with cross-functional teams and industry peers to drive broader systems change.

The candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sustainability, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

  • A minimum of 6 years of directly relevant work experience

  • Advanced degree or significant work experience in product creation, supply chain, environmental science, materials development, business or related field strongly preferred.

  • Experience working in sustainability, waste management, recycling, and/or with footwear and apparel factories strongly preferred. Clear understanding of material flows in a global supply chain.

  • 2+ years of experience in corporate sustainability and/or in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment; advanced understanding of sustainability issues in consumer goods/apparel/footwear experience preferred.

  • Exceptional meeting facilitation, stakeholder management and influencing skills; a proven ability to pull together diverse individuals with different goals and facilitate productive discussions.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze complex topics and present them in a compelling and simple way. Includes ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • We are a global team, and calls with business partners in other time zones (Europe/Asia) will be part of the job.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

In this role, you will be a part of Nike’s Global Sustainability team working to co-create the future of circularity across the Nike enterprise. You will be responsible for piloting circular material and manufacturing concepts, and working to scale winning solutions across Nike’s product supply chain for footwear and apparel.

You will:

  • Develop programs to support Nike’s waste targets for the extended product supply chain, keeping materials at their highest best use and out of landfill.

  • Support the adoption and scaling of recycled materials generated from Nike manufacturing waste (closed-loop solutions) as well as from post-industrial and post-consumer sources outside of Nike’s value chain.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally on Nike’s commitments to scaling recycled materials in footwear and apparel.

  • Manage projects related to pre-competitive industry collaboration on materials, recycling technologies, and other product innovations.

  • Provide interpretation and analysis to internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements, trade-offs, and critical external developments that affect strategy and its delivery.

  • Continuously strive for improvement of enterprise circularity by keeping abreast of “best in class” approaches, making the case for change internally, and supporting internal change management.
