WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike seeks a Designer for Retail Story Design: An innovator, who will support and develop consumer led retail concepts and the evolution of the Nike retail business. A strategic, collaborative and creative team leader, who will develop impactful / scalable design solutions for immersive retail environments and experiences. Always looking to expand the possibilities of immersive environments to create design solutions that reflect Nike’s design ethos and improve the consumer retail experience. You have a track record of innovative use of emerging technology to build impactful spaces, consumer engagement and interaction. You are able to work across several design subject areas such as Graphic design, Environmental design, Materials and Digital with ease. You are able to ideate creative concepts, illustrate your ideas and be hands on as you lead projects to completion across our Asia Pacific and Latin America marketplace.  

Supports consumer led APLA retail concepts, APLA stores and the evolution of the Nike retail business. A strategic team leader. Under the direction of a Brand Creative Design Director, collaborates in the creative vision and concepting of innovative, original retail store environments and programs. Design solutions reflect Nike's design ethos and enhance the consumer retail experience. Integrates and executes on design strategy, providing appropriate business, design, consumer and cultural storytelling within the context and parameters necessary. Provides leadership and direction to design teams.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Leads/works with teams across multiple disciplines, providing vision, strategic and tactical direction, design continuity. Ensures project goals and priorities align with retail business strategies. Addresses resources and challenges to ensure project demands are met, team has appropriate skill mix. Works within team projects as well as independently.

  • Manages functional design professionals. Coaches, creates opportunities for individual development, performance management, recognition and rewards. Fosters innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork.

  • Collaborates with peers, design counterparts and partner groups to ensure project design continuity across all areas of focus and alignment to Brand plans.

  • Manage design processes to ensure design deliverables, timelines and budgets are met. Initiate and drive best practices.

  • Communicates and presents design concepts to all levels of management. Ability to effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Under the direction of a Design Director, and in partnership with x-functional peers, you will lead and develop brand/retail projects to realize innovative, original retail environments, displays and digital solutions for retail stores. You will collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete multiple projects by using design processes and best practices to ensure the creative intent, design results, timelines and budgets are met.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree graphic design, architecture or industrial design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ brand design experience demonstrating creative sophistication in concepts and design/visual communications.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of design processes. Advanced knowledge of computer systems (Adobe Suite, Keynote, SketchUp, 3d render software).

  • Retail industry experience preferred; retail environments, concepts and programs. International experience beneficial.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills including meeting facilitation and presentations.

  • Strong ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to senior creative team.

  • Strong ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and Territories.

  • Sound judgment and ability to contribute meaningfully to the determination of policy and strategy.

  • Ability to motivate others, deal with ambiguity, and effectively collaborate in decision-making

  • Ability to influence and drive alignment across diverse teams.

  • Comfort thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
