WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Lead reports to the Senior Manager of Brand Initiatives & Kids Brand Marketing and partners closely with cross-functional teams across Nike, including marketing, merchandising, marketplace, Asia Pacific Latin America (APLA) geography and global brand teams. This role also collaborates with external agencies and community partners to inspire athletes* and strengthen Nike’s connection with consumers.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong voice for the local consumer, agility and resilience, when challenged or navigating ambiguity. They bring expertise in brand strategy and management, crafting authentic stories that resonate across Kids and key sport dimensions such as Basketball, Tennis, Golf, and pinnacle sport moments. Forward-thinking and solution-oriented, they always carry a positive attitude, energize teams, and foster collaboration to create meaningful consumer connections.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in consumer marketing or related fields, including brand events, retail marketing, and digital marketing with strong cross-functional business acumen.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field is required.
- Professional experience in brand strategy and management, with proven ability to lead end-to-end planning, deliver integrated marketing campaigns, and drive cross-functional collaboration within large, dynamic teams.
- Genuine passion and demonstrable connection to Kids Sports and Lifestyle, parent relationships, and/or Basketball is preferable, but other relevant connections will be considered.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, consumer-driven environment; learns quickly and makes informed decisions amid change. Demonstrates curiosity and resilience in navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (in both English and Japanese) .
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will lead Nike’s brand strategy in Japan by crafting and executing full-funnel marketing plans that connect deeply with consumers. You’ll own storytelling across Kids and key sport categories, driving integrated campaigns that inspire and engage.
- Develop and execute integrated marketing plans end-to-end, ensuring digital and physical experiences are seamlessly connected.
- Lead and integrate Sport/Kids strategy with a focus on seasonal concepts, product stories, ground game, and sport moments.
- Partner cross-functionally and globally to align on marketing offense, orchestrating consumer journeys and managing timelines, embargoes, and recaps.
- Collaborate with internal teams—Retail, Digital, Brand Creative, Integrated Media, Comms, Sports Marketing, Merchandising, Marketplace partners —and external partners including agencies, athletes, influencers, and community leaders.
- Stay attuned to industry, sport, and marketplace trends to inform plans and create authentic consumer connections.
- Measure success through brand strength, market share growth, traffic to Nike platforms, sell-through of key products, and lifecycle engagement of consumers and members.
