WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work closely with the GM, Product lead, Nike Sports Research Lab lead, Engineering and Design teams, Program Management and Finance, to bring safe and reliable products to market. You will work across the Nike matrix to build support from product testing functions across the company.
 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Test/Design Verification Engineering Lead to join a newly formed team developing innovative, powered athlete products. 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred

  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work cross-functionally with Product Development, Engineering, QA. 

  • Specific experience operating automated test equipment including Instron machines. Electropulse a plus.

  • Experience in validation and experimentation design to prove/disprove system or product functionality, reliability, and specification call-outs.

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with Python and grasshopper a plus

  • Results orientation, team skills, ability to multi-task, ability to learn quickly, ability to respond to urgent needs of the team and deliver expected results within expected deadlines.

  • Ability to serve as a technical resource for assessing validation requirements, solving test related problems, and drawing on resources across the organization to build effective test infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON


As Test / DVE Lead, you will play a critical role in driving the execution of our powered athlete product roadmap. You will be responsible for ensuring that products shipped meet all applicable quality and performance criteria, validating functionality, reliability, and performance of products/prototypes using existing and invented quality metrics.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL


•    Validate and test product performance and reliability from creation through production, with specific focus on digital footwear integration.
•    Participate in definition and execution of consumer product test and validation with specific focus on root-cause analysis of failure modes, and integration of detailed testing as a component in quality product development.
•    Manage of multiple external vendors/consultants (both domestic and international) in product development and test support, as well as direct interaction with Wear Test Coordinators in the footwear categories supporting management of long term and short-term wear testing.
•    Develop test procedures and metrics to assess product performance where no best-practice guidelines for testing or qualification exist; develop test and measurement systems as needed.
•    Drive test/validation methodology improvements, as well as process improvement and feedback to the engineering process.  Participate in the early-stage engineering and product development process to provide footwear insight into the design process from the start.
•    Assist in specification and execution of quality, accuracy, and testing procedures across multiple partners and disciplines including traditional reliability testing, four corner testing, performance validation, and software quality assurance.
•    Utilize a wide range of appropriate statistical methodologies and techniques to demonstrate quality and efficacy.  
•    Provide input on the equipment/process/software validation requirements and design control activities for new product development projects.
